My husband broke his sorter and, this one was an even better one.
Works very well. Just make sure you pre-sort your change so you don't have any non U.S. currency because it can't differentiate it.
Love this machine -- plug it in and it sorts coins effectively and quickly. Of course, someone still needs to handle the coin wrappers when it fills a tube of coins, but overflow spills into tray without incident and it's quick and easy to replace wrappers (we use the rolled kind). $1 and foreign coins get stuck in the intake and you gotta open it up and take those out occasion. We use a kitchen scale to double check the role sizes and dealing with coins is easy.
The unit is great at separating the coins without jamming but you have to use the rolled wrappers. If you try to use the flat ones from the bank it won't work. Overall saved a lot of work and saved lots of money over using coin star and paying their 10%
I am impressed with this it dose work good you need to put your coins in slowly also the dimes for Some reason will get stuck at times . I rolled a lot of coins i did about 1 1/2 hrs each day for 2 days It work well I would recommend this you just need to be Patient and take your time and dont overwhelm the machine
Parts are missing, and I have to take time out of my day to go to Walmart and return it. I wont be ordering a new one
The machine kept getting coins stuck in it and did not work as it should have.
Before buying a digital sorter that will actually count the coins going in, I figured it wouldn't hurt to give this one a test. It did accurately sort denominations, but that's all. I put 106 pennies, 4 nickels, and 4 dimes in the hopper randomly mixed. after the first roll of pennies filled up, I turned it off. Put in a new roll, and spent the next couple minutes trying to unjam it. once it started working again, it finishes, but only left one penny in the overflow. I hand counted the pennies from the rolls. One had 51 pennies, the other had 54. This will be returned tomorrow. If you know coins, you know thickness is not constant. Most newer coins are thinner than older coins. If you are adamant about having a coin sorter, make sure you get one that actually counts each coin, and will stop when it reaches capacity. You will certainly lose money in the end if you don't. If you don't go through a large amount of coins regularly, just hand count and save the money. This is nothing more than an overpriced piece of plastic in the end. I would think that I bought it off of Wish
although the box says 'patented anti-jam technology', it jammed....many many times. i tried putting only a fee coins in at a time but it still jammed. there is also no instructions on how to know you have the correct amount of change in the sleeve. too frustrating and time consumimg
Don't waste your money. Jams all the time, even when lightly loaded with coins. I bought for the kids to sort their coins before taking them to the bank. If you sort all the coin denominations first it helps a little with the jamming but if I wanted to to sort money by hand I wouldn't have bough a coin sorter. Total waste of money. I'm keeping it only because my husband opened it before I got home and thew the box away before I could test the product or else it would be going back!
