I bought it for work, I keep it inside the car 24/7. Two bags of ice will strive for day one; day two will have water and ice; day three will have water dropping from cold temperature. Three days being inside a hot car giving cold drinks, is 5/5 stars
This cooler has been better than the $200 cooler I originally purchased based on hype. Rtic will be the way I go from now on. Save your money when purchasing based on a name and not the quality. Hands down this cooler has been the best. I will purchase again. My cooler sits outside in the shade of my entryway and is filled with hydration drinks and sodas for delivery drivers. Ice lasts for two days. I replace the ice and drain the water on the third day. Worth every penny I spent on it.
I’ve wanted a good solid cooler for awhile. My son has an RTIC and it keeps ice for days. This one was on clearance, I’m assuming because of the color but I love it. Wish it had wheels and they do make one with wheels but I wasn’t willing to spend an additional $100 just for wheels. I will install some myself.
Purchased for camping trip and got ice that day on friday and still had ice on monday morning when I emptied it out. Highly reccomed as a YETI alternative. Better than YETI in my opinion.
Bought this last-minute for a camping trip… It held Ice for four days… Only a little bit melted… The ice chest was full… Compared to an igloo this one is pretty awesome… The igloo melted all the ice, that my friend brought same size… Mine stayed as cold as a refrigerator. Hers was warm.
I just bought the cooler and took it to the Arizona desert. Two bags of ice and 100 degrees outside, who knows how hot in my trunk. 24 hours later about half the ice was left and drinks were cold. When you add 2 or 3 bags of ice, plus cooler weight and drinks weight it can be a heavy load. Thankfully I didn't get the larger 52 qt. Quality? I could hear the seal when closes. There may be better coolers out there, but you would be hard pressed to find a better value. For several days in the hot sun, if you can't restock Ice, you may look for a better cooler. For weekend camping, this cooler for the win.
We love this cooler. It’s cheaper than a yeti and yet holds ice like one! Love how well it seals. We took it on vacation with us to hold snacks and drinks and when we came back 5 days later, there was still just a liiiiitle bit of ice rolling around as we were draining it.
Not what I was thinking of on this cooler. It keeps ice a day before it all melts. Had to remove drain plug than add silicone around the opening reinstall the plug in cap you keep from leaking . All in all I just spent $160 to learn the lesson if you're looking for a good cooler just go ahead and buy a yeti or Walmart other brand igloo.
I truly was super excited about this product. I've needed a new cooler for sometime now, and have always been curious about the RTIC brand coolers. The others might be OK, but this one doesn't hold ice for long at all. Wanted to test it out so I put a whole bag of ice in the cooler and expected it to last at least 2 to 3 days and it only lasted one day! The water was slightly cold, but the cooler has been in a 74° climate controlled space through the last few days, and wasn't moved during the “testing phase”. It's a nice cooler. Just not at all what I was expecting or hoping for- especially after considering the product description.
This is not my first rtic product, nor my first cooler. The ice retention claims are far from accurate. Even with pre-chilling the cooler will not keep ice even overnight on a day where it was cloudy and 72 degrees, dropping to the mid 50's at night. A 20 year old coleman i found abandoned in a storage closet at an old job holds ice better. Spend the extra money and buy a Pelican.
