I've considered purchasing a “good” ice chest for several years, but chose to not spend the money. This being said, I decided to pull the trigger on a better insulated chest because I had a load of frozen food. I chose the RTIC Ultra-light 52 qt. chest. After my first twelve our trip, I arrived to my destination with the item still frozen, the chest full of ice, and very little melting. I have to say I was somewhat impressed. Four days later, I still had ice. This ice chest seems to be well made, it's thick walled, easy use handles, and easy to open and close. While I found this ice chest quite expensive, I also found it better than any ice chest I've owned. I recommend you give RTIC ice chests a hard look.
So far this thing is a beast. I've cold sodas after two days of being in the car through Utah and Nevada. The walls are thick, so it looks bigger from the outside, but easy to handle and cold.
This is a gorgeous hard cooler, by looks alone it’s worth the purchase, but it also keeps ice over the weekend. I’ve put ice, drinks and food in it on a Saturday and by Tuesday afternoon its still as cold as the first day. It’s also a lot lighter and less expensive than a Yeti or other hard roto molded coolers. It’s just enjoyable to use it, best purchase of the year.
Holds ice like main stream media buzzwords. But in all seriousness, the cooler works great. Throw a bag of ice in it the night before your trip then fill it before you leave with ice and whatever forms of sustenance you desire. No real ice melt for the two-day trip and those days were in the high 80s and low 90s and it was in the sun most of the day. Outperformed our old cooler by a lot in that same scenario last year.
Bought this for a construction job for cold water for the guys. Received it and it was so nice I used my old 1980's cooler for the job. No way I'm sending this beauty to a jobsite to be abused by a bunch of neandertals. Don't get me wrong; this ARTIC could handle abuse, but I'm keeping it for myself and it will most likely last the rest of my life. Great cooler and love everything about it!
The cooler is great, the ice barely melts after five days, and there is still ice left up to ten days. It is a well built cooler!
The cooler itself is amazing. BUT, the listing on Walmart’s website shows a bottle opener and a cargo net on the inside of the lid. This cooler has neither of these things which is quite disappointing on Walmart’s end. Again, amazing cooler, but pretty crappy description from Walmart.
Arrived missing the drain plugs. I didn't have time to return so I used a generic plug. Otherwise the cooler is nice.
I feel this product deserves a lower rating due to my overall purchasing experience. I was excited to see that Walmart offered same-day delivery. While the price was slightly higher than Amazon, I was willing to pay extra for the convenience. The cooler itself was not the problem. The issue was its condition when it arrived. There were scratches and cuts all over the exterior, with the lid showing the most damage. Nearly the entire surface of the lid was marked up. To make matters worse, Walmart shipped the cooler with the anti-theft security device still attached. I contacted customer service and explained the situation. Their solution was to offer me a $10 discount, which I found disappointing given the condition of the item. As a result, I am returning the cooler for a full refund. Unfortunately, this means I now have to go through the hassle of returning it and purchasing a new one in store. I am very dissatisfied with this online shopping experience and will think twice before ordering large items from Walmart online again.
The Ice chest was a christmas gift that was delivered from the Deming.NM walmart .my complaint isnt so much with the product becouse for one the walmart employee plus the walmart delivery person shouldnt have delivered a damaged Ice chest that cost above 200. All damaged they should of replaced it yes damages were visable becouse it was not packaged or taped shut damage was all over the outside lid and inside. Not to mention they are no help to getting any info on return or status they have already charged my credit card and I am out a cooler and money
