Great high quality backpack at a reasonable price. I'm using it for work and carry a large laptop (16" MacBook Pro) it works great for that. It lacks internal pockets for business cards, etc. but I purchased a slim insert that holds my iPad Pro and has a ton of smaller pockets. The combination is fantastic. I love this backpack and that it converts easily from a work laptop bag to a high quality hiking pack by just removing the insert I purchased.
My son loves his new Arctic book bag. . very durable and I love the padding provided inside for his laptop. . tons of space and lots of little pockets for all of his necessities for school
Great quality just the size I needed for my laptop and iPad along with other small items like cables and such. Very comfortable to carry. 10 out of 10. Would recommend this and certainly would buy again.
Just got it, plan on taking it to beach with some essentials while on my e bike. I've got beer and a freezer pack in it today going to the pool.
Almost everything about this backpack is solid, but the water bottle slots are useless. They're wide enough to carry pencils, but you will struggle to fit anything with a circumference larger than a Coke can—and that's assuming the bag is empty. If you have a full bag, forget about staying hydrated. As for the rest of the bag, looks great, quality materials, great zippers, and nice laptop sleeve.
I like the size, shape, and material for this backpack as a daily wear. It is small outside and large enough inside. It is also a very attractive backpack that is subtle (yet slightly tactical and modern). My only recommendations for improvement for next year would be a slightly less flat back (the part that sits on my back) and a small pocket on the top of the bag for a phone, keys, wallet etc.
I'm very pleased with the pack. I'm using it as a work go pack. It keeps my to/from work less hectic .
I've had the original RTIC backpack for a few years and it was time to replace. They no longer offer the original, only this road trip version. This version is MUCH smaller and more compact. The two side “water bottle” pockets will not hold an Owalla type reusable bottke, but a disposable water bottle will fit. Definitely not what I'm used to, and a considerable downsize. Still seems to be durable quality. Just about half the size. Will hold my computer, planner, and some necessities, but definitely not as much as the previous bag I used for work/school.
Great quality backpack. I do wish the smaller compartments had more dividers or small pockets as I use this for work. I have pens, notepads, sticky notes, marketing stickers, etc. I just had to buy some containers so no big deal. Would be cool to see a dedicated laptop bag at some point that was still designed for the elements.
Color is vibrant and great! However, the design sucks. The shoulder straps are not comfortable. I actually hated wearing it. I'm a 5'3" female and it was very uncomfortable for a day trip of outdoor activities. Additionally, it's hard to pack things! The middle pocket is too deep and big, causing the back pocket to basically be useless. It would have been better to have only the main pocket and little front pocket. The 2 same-sized pockets caused it to be too narrow and difficult to pack and find things. I bought the backpack because it was advertised as waterproof. I didn't end up testing this because it didn't rain as expected, but I honestly would choose any other backpack over this because of how uncomfortable and dysfunctional it is.
