RTS Home Accents Rain Barrel Link Kit

I really like this rain barrel. However, I wish that instead of the overflow in front, there was a port on the side near the top to re-connect back into my downspout so I can direct the water away from the house like I had it prior to installation. It doesn’t take much rain to fill the barrel, then flood out my flower bed and leave water standing next to my slab until it can drain. It isn’t unusual to get rain several days in a row in Spring time here. The ground is saturated and I am a little worried that it will drown my seedlings.

Got this rain barrel to catch condensate coming from my air conditioner instead of wasting it going down the drain I use the water to water my flowers and garden Saving at least 15- 20 gallons of water a day this will lower my water bill. The money I save will pay for the rain barrel in one summer

This is the third rainbarrel I've bought, all of them the same. 50 gallon, flat back, oak finish, brass spigot. Each barrel holds enough water to do the planer boxes on ots side of the house through the entire summer. I highly recommend this product. Get the stand for it too. You won't regret it.

We have gutters, but for some reason when it rains it runs over the gutter on one area on our lanai. This would cause excess rain water in an area of the lanai that water should not run to. I bought the rain barrel hoping that this would help our problem. It does a great job of collecting the rain. It is not rainy season yet here in Florida. I may have to hook up a hose to the rain barrel to drain the amount of rain we get into the pool. As long as my covered part of the lanai doesn't get all the excess rain I will be a very happy customer.

Set up was relatively easy and the flat back makes the rain barrel easy to position. Sadly, the description on Wayfair did not seem to indicate that the kit needed to connect two rain barrels together was not included so that was disappointing. More a reflection on Wayfair than the rain barrels themselves.

Barrel seems good quality! The only thing is, there's only one spigot, and I wanted two…. Also, it would be nice if you could hook a hose up to the overflow part and direct water to where you want it to go. It fills up so quick just after one rainfall, you would think 50 gallons would be a lot! Looks like I'm going to have to order more in the future!

I had trouble making the spigot screw in straight. The plastic threads on the barrel are not very welcoming. Brass threads would be a nice addition. I wish the top had an optional circular opening for my downspout pipe which is circular. The top was indented, so the flat screen gaps above the top.

I just received my first rain barrel today. I liked the idea of this rain barrel with the removable mesh screen. Now that I have received it, I am a little disappointed. My first issue is that the top of the barrel curves inward, so when I attach the screen, there is still a gap that will allow debris and mosquitos to get in. When I looked inside the rain barrel, I noticed that where the hole was drilled for the spiget, there is still plastic hanging on. Unfortunately, the opening at the top is not wide enough for me to get in and pull out the plastic. This could potentially cause an issue in the future when water is running through the line to my nipple style chicken waterers. Also, the overflow drainage has nothing stopping mosquitos from getting in. I would like to be able to add a hose or something to the overflow hole to direct water away from the base of the barrel, but it is not designed for that. I haven't filled it up yet, but I most likely will not purchase this again.

Brass spigot would not thread properly into bottom drain hole. Ended up using the connectors for the barrel linkage system to go into bottom hole. Spigot threaded properly into these pieces. We have not installed these yet, so are not able to comment on leakage

The rain barrel construction was fine. But just observing my first rainfall and it leaks around the spigot flange, not the spigot itself. I'll have to apply some sealant around the flange. Others have complained about the same problem. Maybe a different adhesion technique should be used at the factory or a small tube of sealant be provided with rain barrel.
