Rubbermaid 8.3 gal Step-on Plastic Kitchen Trash Can, Metallic

This trash can replaced the same type that we had for about 20 years. It does seem a little lighter than the previous trash can, and I wish it came in more colors. The old one was beige.

This is my favorite can, not too big and should last a long time. The extra charge for color gray is wrong but I wanted this can.

Hard to find this can at a reasonable price, we use it for boating & it's perfect, foot pedal top up and down, no trash blowing around & they sell the bags to. Thanks Walmart-

I ordered this trashcan to replace one exactly like it that I've used in my kitchen for 21 years! The old one finally broke at the hinge. This one is the same model but in grey. The grey is a better color for my kitchen now; the old one was beige which is no longer available. This is not large but holds a tall kitchen garbage bag. Step on the "pedal" and the lid lifts then closes. Simple, effective.

We ordered the metallic gray color for $15.78 plus $1.12 tax and while it is a good product, the one we received had several deep scratches on the front surface. We returned it for that reason which was a trouble-free procedure.

I like it all around very well. Putting in bags "just so" at every change can be a hassle to make sure the lid operates properly, otherwise I'd give it 5 star but for the time and trouble to reset the lid after each bag change.. Id hate to pay the money for a stainless steel bucket and go through the same hassle and possible dents or having the sensor (so popular in SS) , not work.

Absolutely god awful design. Step detaches from the lid so after the first step open, it doesn't close. After closing it manually, the step no longer functions.

Idk who in the fudge this is for but this is not for grown up households. This stupid thing is for a dollhouse. like seriously. I'm not sure how or why this is rated so high outside of the fact that this is a trash can and if you put a trash bag in it then it will hold your trash. Im not some giant either but at 5'6 this is SMALL! TINY!!! Heck the box was bigger than the whole trash can. Returning ASAP! It's barely to my knee.

After seeing such good reviews, I was looking forward to receive this trash can. But the foot pedal did not work on the one I got in mail. The lid only opened half of the time when stepping on the pedal. Maybe it was just bad luck that the one I got was poor quality. I returned it for sure.
