Rubbermaid Kitchen Trash Can, 12.2 Gallon Plastic Touch Top Garbage Bin with Lid, White

Easy in -easy out!!! I am always checking out kitchen trash cans and have found this one to be my favorite. I like a simple , easy to clean and large enough , but not an “elephant in the room” looking waste can. I don't like ones with batteries, small openings, or foot pedals that sometimes don't open. Stainless steel ones are a little too industrial looking for my taste. This white, large opening , easy to clean and sturdy can is perfect. And very affordable. Also the 13 gallon bags fit nicely . Love this one!!!

Perfect like the button. I was looking for a trashcan that would seal tight. I put cat food cans in it with the button super easy and it locks tight.

Easy to open, easy to clean, doesn't have a weird smell yet. The bag fits on really well and doesn't fall off. Doesn't get stuck pulling out. Solid for a plastic trash can.

We used this to store birdseed- holds 40 lbs. we put in a plastic bag first as a liner. So easy to just push the front of the lid to open. It up without having to deal with the usual foot pedal!! Highly recommend this item. Very light weight however sturdy plastic will last forever.

I like the size and shape of the unit. The opening mechanism/method works well. My only concern is that, over time, somethings going to break as every trash bag I've tried seems to be just a tiny bit too small at the top. I need to force the lip of the trash bag to get it secured on the rim of the unit. It's just a little too tight of a fit. Other than that, I really like the unit and would recommend it, as long as you don't mind struggling to get the bag secured.

Lid very slow to open when the lip is pushed. The spring is very weak. Needs a stronger spring to open the lid. Other than that it is a good trash container. The opening does not open very far. Just at a 45 degree angle.

I wanted a narrow 13 gallon trash container that would fit under the Lip of my kitchen countertop. After measuring, this one seemed to be just perfect, and it does fit very nicely. The problem I found is that it is difficult for me at 81 to get a 13 gallon trash bag over the lip. I solved that problem by just ordering the next size bag. It's going to be great because now it's where I make all the trash instead of being way over to the left where I don't. It's a great product. Glad I got it. Wish it were yellow.

The Good : It is small enough to fit under my kitchen island when the lid is open and regular drawstring bags fit in it, The BAD, it in Not White, it looks like it is yellowing, as if it was old or left in the Sun or the heat. If you have a white kitchen, this one is not for you. My old Sterlite is Much whiter than this one, I am keeping it to use for recycled items in the garage,

This trash can seems to be well made but what I don't like about it is the 13 gallon trash bags don't fit easily in/on the can. I believe this is because the top of the can is more squared at the corners (not too rounded), so the trash bag has to be pulled and stretched over the edges when changing the bag. Maybe I'm using the wrong bags? I'm using drawstring trash bags with the flex / stretch in the bag. The lid works great and stays shut until opened by pushing the latch.

I wanted to like this trash can, especially because the bags fit tightly around the rim without slipping. However, air escapes continuously from the back, sides, and front beneath the latch—even when the bag is only half full. I've never had a covered trash can leak air like this before, and it defeats the purpose of having a lid to keep odors contained. I wouldn't recommend it if you are looking for proper odor control.
