Buy the thicker version. The half inch is a good thickness under an area rug. It totally improve the feel of the living room area in my home. It fit perfectly under the 9 x 13 without trimming. The only feedback I would give is that my dog can easily tear it apart. If she's a puppy, she hasn't destroyed it by any means but she will pull a little pieces off the corners so if you have a pet keep that in mind. Compared to the pricing of the same pads at other places, Walmart value is much better for the same thing. I think looking further by this product I would definitely buy it again.

It's better than I was expecting. The pad is pretty thick, which I like since I have a thin rug. BUT PLEASE NOTE, it is very slippery. I suggest buying an additional non-slip padding for the bottom.

This is a thick felt pad. It is very comfortable and stays in place. Great way to use a rug over it without concern over the floor getting scratched.

This under rug pad was perfect to give my new rug an even better cushion. Nice and thick and soft under foot. Will definitely purchase again and recommend to everyone

This pad made a world of difference under my rug. The floor is a much more inviting place to be.

Disappointed. My mistake! I did not realize that it doesn't have a rubber non-slip backing. It's the same felt material on both sides. The thickness is great, but our rug slides around too easily. If you want a padding that doesn't slip, I would recommend buying one that has a rubber backing.

Overall these carpet pads are great. I purchased them in a number of sizes, one for each of the area rugs I purchased for my new home. I wouldn't go with any carpet padding thinner than this. I did take one star off though because even though I ordered the carpet pads in smaller sizes that should have worked under the area rugs they were purchased to go under I did have to trim quite a bit off in order to make the combination of carpet pad and area rug not be a tripping hazard.

The rug pad is just as described however it sheds a lot. When laying it out be prepared to either change clothes after because the fleece gets everywhere. Once it was laid out it doesn't move and it provides the cushion I wanted but it ended up being bigger than my rug so I had to trim it.

This seemed like a great value if you're going to get an area rug. don't get me wrong the purchase was good and I thought it was very good for the money. the problem was as I got double the size that I had ordered. and I'm telling you right now it was a bear to cut. and it made a mess the fibers are all over my house. I would have liked to have gotten the size that I ordered. but now if I get another six by nine I'll have a pad. overall a good product for the price.

It's thick but not soft. I was expecting to get a rug pad that would go under my rug to make it softer. Not an unreasonable expectation. But this pad just made my rug higher and barely softer. We went with foam tiles instead. Plus the felt comes off so easily my baby was grabbing it and choking on it.
