Rune Factory 2: a Fantasy Harvest Moon (Nintendo DS)

If you are looking for a well rounded RPG for the DS with many things to do then the Rune Factory series is definitely something you should consider checking out!

I was a little worried about this game. I haven't played the first Rune Factory and was not overly amused with Harvest Moon's tediousness of having to farm. However, the extra fighting keeps the game interesting. There is still farming you have to do and goals to make people happy. The new requests almost everyday mixed with fighting and monster taming makes this game interesting for me. Cons: Only Male Main... as a female gamer it is disappointing to see that it is a sister game to Harvest Moon but limits you to a male main character. Slow Start... the beginning doesn't tell you how to do anything or where to find tools and neither does the book so you may find yourself running around for hours not sure what to do like I did. Pros: Addicting... this game easily keeps me wanting to play more and is very hard to put down to do other tasks. Additional Play... this game offers more things once you reach the second generation such as cooking, pharmacy, and creating accessories. You also get to play as a son or daughter allowing for the female main character to play a role in the game. Fighting and Taming... the addition of fighting monsters for items or choosing to keep them as your friend to help you out gives the game a more RPG feel to the game. I am very happy that I decided to purchase this game on a whim. Originally purchased because of the sheep shown on the cover (I have a love for sheep XD) it has proven to be well worth the investment. I have logged 2 weeks into the game and will continue to play this game for a long time yet seeing as I haven't managed to get to second generation yet! <3 I am just glad Walmart offered the Site to Store option! Without this option I would have never bothered purchasing this wonderful game.

This was a great new way to experience the usual Harvest Moon game. Usually it revolves just around farming and raising a few types of animals, but this game, it creates a refreshing new twist to the farming games I got used to. Although the game play may be different, fighting the monsters while raising crops, and doing the many quests in the game have entertained me for hours, and have kept my attention for far longer than any other of the Harvest Moon games created by Natsume. I found the game both challenging, and informative like any other ones of the Harvest Moon games, and unlike any of the other games, it doesn't just involve day by day farming. Rune Factory 2 also is a great game in the prospect that the farming and weapon levels don't rely on upgrading them with certain ores. Rune Factory 2 had met all of my expectations and more, and was worth the price and wait of the game. I only regret that there were not enough hours in the day to play this game more.

This is a great game for people who like rp games. only complaint was that none of the stores had it so i had to buy online and wait. Do not get this game if you are in school! this game will eat all your time when you should be doing homework.

I had read good reviews about this game and was still completely blown away! The graphics are incredible, the music is fun but not distracting, and the storyline keeps you guessing! Same fun of classic harvest moon games, with mystery and action thrown in! It was DEFINITELY worth the money I paid for it and I would absolutely recommend it.

I had some high expectations for this game after hearing about it from my friends and reading reviews in magazines, but it managed to meet my expectations! It really is as good as everyone said it would be!
