A friend recommended this style (over heat lamp), and they were right. This is a great product! It is easy to use and adjust, and the chicks seem to be flourishing (they're a month old today!)

It's definitely bigger than I expected. My chicks are 3 weeks old today and I'm preparing to move them from heat lamp to brooder plate in a bigger enclosure.
