Rx Clear Luster Media Clarifier Filter Balls for Sand Filters, Black, 4 Packs

I would never go back to using sand in the pool filter. This particular brand of pool filter balls works great. Last Summer we actually didn't clean or change them at all and our pool stayed clear and clean the entire Summer. We cleaned them to start off this new season.

Install the Clear Luster Media in my filter in the late morning. Could barely see the bottom of my pool. By mid-afternoon pool was almost clear. Has been crystal clear since. Media definitely works!

This passed was my 5th year using the original white RX Clear Luster filter media balls that I first purchased, which according to the directions is the last. But after opening my pool the filter tank developed a leak, which I tried to repair, but didn't hold. I lived with it until I was able to get a new tank (only), after which I figured it would just be easier to refill filter with sand for remainder of the summer. Well a bag of sand is $20 and I need 2, also have no where to store the tank above freezing, so I don't reuse the sand from season to season. Got the latest catalog and they are on special for $20 a box, they'll pay for themselves the second year. Have had no issues with them, clogging filter pressure is good and I have never needed to back flush. Water crystal clear.

I had my sand filter shoot craps over the winter and really didn't want to spend $1000+ to replace it. I have always hated our setup, the sand, the constant backwashing and topping off the water level. I did a little searching and decided to try the RxClear filter and the Blue Luster filter balls for about half the cost. So far I am very pleased with the quality and performance everything! Our pool was crystal clear much faster than any other opening over the last 18 years! I have never been able to keep the pressure at such a low level, the pump run so quiet, and actually have both supply ports wide open without losing prime. I wish I would have found these items before my last sand filter replacement!

Pool has never looked better and have had no issues with water balance since I switched. Highly recommend it. Works even better with Pea Gravel in the base of the filter.

We ordered our pool kit plus extras on July 22 and received all of it on July 25. Everything was as expected and everything went together very smoothly and easily. We are very happy with the results.
