SABRE Frontiersman Bear Bell

I tried to find a bear belll locally. i was not able to find one, so I was happy to see that I could order one through walmart. the spell has a hidden feature to silence the bell with a little magnet. On the strap, if you don't need to use it. I love that there were different options of colors.

Unfortunately, bear sprays can't be brought to Katmai National Park, so bringing a bear bell with you and talking while you walk are better than nothing. To silence the bell during transport, the strap that attached to this bear bell has a magnet inside that allows you to lock the clapper in place.

Bear bell works fine hooks up easily with Velcro strap

Perfect addition for hiking. Rings when you want it to and is silent when you don't.

Received for review. This bell is great for making a little noise just noticeable to surrounding ears. It isn't tinny like regular metal bells and so doesn't become a nuisance after time. We haven't hiked any trails with bears as of late but our son, 3, loves wearing this and walking the property. The strap seems durable and strong to last many uses. I would recommend this for any hikers or Trail Blazers to keep from starling any wildlife and making them agitated. Great for kids to play also and isn't as noisy or annoying as traditional bells.

I haven't had a chance to try it "in the wild," but when it arrived I gave it a shake and I like the low-key sound it makes. I would probably be annoyed by a loud, clangy bell sound while hiking. I just have to hope and assume it would alert bears or other wildlife that something was approaching so they can move along.

my husband was ecstatic to receive this, he hikes alot and this is something that is very convenient to have . its small enough to attach on anything, not sure of the performance yet because he hasn't had a bear encounter just yet, but i say its a go to buy !

This has been extremely convenient on my 85 acres while I am walking trails and clearing areas. I wear this simple bell to prevent me from startling a bear. You never know what you will walk up on. This is a perfect to help reduce any problems. The velcro strap helps for easy removal and applying to pants or bag.

The purpose of the bell is to make enough noise to alert bears. This bell just is not loud enough. Some engineer needs to rethink the design and make a louder bell.

So when I read the description of this bear bell I was expecting some kind of special noise maker that bears were afraid of. When I received it I could not stop laughing...its literally a bell, like a jingle bell. I have no clue if this actually scares bears away and honestly I'm not gonna be the one to test it out. I guess bears do not like jingle bells lol.
