I have tried multipul rug mats over the years and I must say this one is the one I wished I had used from the start. It does not look like it would work, but it does! I have hard wood floors and this one keeps the rug in place.
I love how this is oversized so you can cut it to fit your rug perfectly. The padding has made such a big difference with my rug. It is no longer sliding out of place and extremely "cushiony" to walk upon. I have seen other padding for a higher price. This is a great product at an extremely cheap price. Delivery was also excellent. It came within days to my surprise.
I have been desperately looking for something to make my couch cover stay on my leather sofa. I bought the 6 x 9 size, cut it to the shape of my cover and hot glued it on the back of it and now my cover stays put!!!
It was a little big for my rug, but easy to cut down to size. It sticks to the floor enough to keep the rug in place. It is not very thick, which I prefer since I did not want it to be noticeable.
Excellent and very thin. Superb product, can even be folded to hide under rugs that are smaller than the pad.
I ordered a 9' x 12' pad for a 9' x 12' rug. Once we placed the rug on top, I noticed the pad seemed to be too large and its edges were showing, I was able to cut the excess pad with minimal trouble to fit but you might consider a slightly smaller size than the size of rug.
Rugs vary in size: my 4x6 is a bit smaller, so I folded down the end of this pad to make it fit. You can cut it (but if I buy a slightly bigger rug in future, I might need the length.) The mat has a slightly odd smell that dissipates quickly. To place it, I had to grip the rug AND the mat together and lay them down. If you have a larger mat, it's possibly a 2 person job. But not a difficult one. After I adjusted the mat, it kept the rug in place even when the dogs scrambled over it to go outside. It does what it is supposed to do, keep an area rug secure on a slippery floor. I would buy another if I needed one.
The pad isn't as thick as I'd hoped but it does stop the rug from sliding. I bought the pad larger than needed, trimmed 2 edges and used the scraps for door mat and a runner. The pad holds them securely.
The pad seems to do a good job of holding the rug in place and also seems to add a helpful thickness to the rug. I think it cost a bit too much but I did get the 8x10 size. I will buy it when I purchase area rugs.
I found there was virtually no more "skid" resistance with the pad than without the pad. I cut it into sizes that would fit under long runner rugs, and found they still moved, slid, and "curled up."
