Was packaged well %26 was a good thing bc the box %26 styrofoam was pretty torn up but the item fortunately was OK. No assembly was required. However the latches on the sliding tops were out of alignment %26 one metal latch could not be tightened to give a snug fit, so that was aggravating. I really wanted to love it %26 I do like it ok, but ended up using it in a bedroom instead of LR! Would not recommend for area with lots of activity with pets or children. It has no lock down latches on the wheels %26 would be unsafe on bare floors. It's an unusual piece %26 I'm not going through the hassle of returning since the packing was not salvageable %26 I'm too old to go through the grief. And I don't despise it…just not thrilled with it.
