Great car seat! Very comfy for our 2 year old. Purchased two of them. No issue on installing. Reading reviews thought it might not be good for rear facing. If you secure it/install it correctly it is secure. We did roll a towel and put under it, closet to seat fold to get it level. Watched a couple of different videos on installing it and we used the seat belt. Great seat for the price. Will be ordering a third one.
I was looking for a safe, comfortable car seat that fit my 2013 ford explorer because the room Behind the driver is not enough. This car seat is rated the best for small and sport cars. But if you have a small SUV this is the seat for you or if you or your husband are tall. I am very happy with this carseat and my 13 month old love it!!!
After searching for months for a decent priced, safe, and small convertible car seat I finally found this one. Even then I didn't stop looking but I couldn't find anything better. We ordered two, one for each car and it's well worth the money. I found them very easy to install following the directions given despite the reviews I read. I didn't even need a towel or pool noodle in either car. They key to getting it tight enough is lifting the seat cover and putting your body weight on the seat while pulling the latch and tightening, like the instructions say. I also did not "scrape my fingers on small seat belt guides" because I lifted up the cover to tighten. Fits well in our small VW Jetta. Our 9 month old son now LOVES car rides. He is still very reclined but has more room and can see everything. I would recommend this car seat to anyone and we will buy this exact one when we have another child. No need to spend $200 on a seat. I have compared to Britax and prefer this.
I spent plenty of time researching car seats looking for a safe and attractive car seat that would fit in my new two door Lexus IS convertible. The Guide 65 showed up on several reviews as a good choice. At about 70 bucks it was a good deal so I gave it a try. The Chambers color was the most subtle color available at the time. Although it seemed more brown than I wanted, it actually is not. There is a lot of black and the other is kind of grayish/brown/silverish. This seat is the perfect choice for size, color and ease of use for my little car. It replaced my Safety First Air which is still in great shape, just too large. My car has black interior and somewhat sporty. This seat is perfect for my 3.5 year old grandson.
My son HATED his infant seat, and would scream during every car ride so I started looking for a car seat like this one. We love this seat! He doesn't cry anymore because he can see out more and it fits 5 pounds and up! We're thrilled with this purchase
We bought this for our 1yr old who is still on the small side - 18lbs, so we are currently using in rear facing in the second row seat of a Toyota Sienna. Installation was not difficult and in order to attain the correct recline for our son's weight, it did require the use of a pool noodle and towel to make it secure in that position, but it is in fast and has not shifted in a week. We like the extra padding for our little guy and he seems very snug and well supported for sleeping in the seat. He enjoys his less obstructed view. The bottom of the seat is nicely padded and plush, although the fabric is easily snagged, we have a tiny pull already where I think my engagement ring caught the fabric while releasing the buckle. I like the adjustable head rest and it is very easy to operate. It is also pretty light weight if you have to move it around.
My husband & I were looking for a car seat for our son who exceeded the length limit (which was 30 inches) on his first car seat. We were looking for a car seat that could still be rear facing, yet be able to grow with him for a little while. We read many reviews on different seats before deciding to try this one. It was easy to install, save for it being a little wobbly (nothing a towel couldn't fix), when placed rear facing, & we couldn't beat the price! Now instead of him never wanting to be in his car seat, he never wants to leave it! It's more comfortable than some of the other models we looked (there seems to be more padding for his bottom.) Another feature we really like is the adjustable straps (especially the strap between his legs), not many car seats we looked at had that feature. Now when we go visiting his grandparents, who live 3 hours away, we know he will be comfortable for the entire drive. We are even considering getting another one for our other vehicle!
I bought this for my 21 month who has outgrown his infant seat. We have it rear-facing (at the older baby/ more upright angle) for now in a camry, and there is room for the seat in front of it to be about 3/4 of the way back. No complaints there. The baby seems comfortable in it, with plenty of room to grow. We picked this especially for its narrow profile, and I think we will be able to put three across when the time comes. The cupholder is silly; too flimsy to hold anything except perhaps a few cheerios. The padding appears sufficient. It is much more generously padded than the bare-bones seat available at WM (the scerena) and I think it's worth the little extra.
had bought one a few months ago for my pickup from the store in a different color. fits well in the access cab in the rear facing position behind the drivers seat. needed another for wife's car, but the color didn't look right for her car. was considering getting the eddie bauer version just for the color, until this one showed up. also installed rear facing with leg room for the front passenger. the fabric cleans up well, removing the cover to wash is same as other brands i've had, you got to pull the belts out first. the anchor strap is tough to tighten up and to release, but you won't do that very often. the cup holder is too shallow. the adjustable headrest is a nice feature. the seat seems wide but no more than an infant seat with the handle, good for extra shoulder room. haven't installed forward facing yet, so can't comment on that.
Safety 1st Guide 65 Convertible Car Sear, Chambers is a good looking car seat, excellent quality and easy to install. I'm just not happy with the car seat because it doesn't recline enough for my 5-month old grandson who is 16 pounds. The baby's head keeps falling forward when he falls to sleep. Are there any suggestions you have to make car seat recline more than it does, it really just seems to be upright and doesn't slant enough. Does anyone else have this problem. I know it will be great for him when he's a little older.
