This review is for the safety first wood baby gate, this is bye far the nicest babygate I have ever had!! I've had the plastic baby gates aswell as the solid wood baby gates, an this babygate tops them all 💯, I really love the latch that is a push an slide theme, makes it easy for us to open, But child proof, I like the soldier wood design with the metal edges makes it more study, an durable, an the hidth is just right for my needs we like it.

My grandson just started walking so I needed something to keep him safe. The Safety 1st Wood-and-Metal- Flat Slate Gate helped me do that. I was able to keep him in the same room with me when I needed to. This gate was easy to install. It is a pressure-mounted gate so installation was quick. My doorway is less than 32 inches so I did not have to add the included extensions. This gate can extend up to 38 inches wide. The gate is 28 inches high, so my toddler can not climb over it. The instructions were simple to follow and included pictures. The gate only took me 10 minutes to set up without the added extensions. Not only is this gate extremely stylish with its metal and wood finishes, but it also has some great features. I like that it has a visual indicator on the top slat. If the gate is open at all it will show red in the window. If it is closed completely it will be all green. This gate also includes wall cups with adhesive pads to help the mounts stay in place. Another great feature I like is that it has swing stops at the bottom. When you use the stops the gate will only swing in one direction or will not swing at all when you use both at the same time. This gate is made from high-quality materials and is very durable. I am very happy with it.

This gate is simple therefore making it easy to navigate for adults and bigger kids while protecting our littles in need of containing tona smaller space. This gate is perfect for children as well as animals.

This is a very nicely made baby gate. It is not the cheap plastic ones that I was use to. It is actual wood and metal design and is gray in color so it comes with almost any decor and also looks nice and not tacky. It is a swing open gate that is easy to operate but not so easy that the little ones can escape.

This is a really cool and trendy gate. I have never seen a combination of metal and wood and it really just looks very cool. It was very easy to install and it is not an eyesore in my house and it does the job of keeping my baby where he needs to be safe.

The Safety 1st Wood and Metal Gate is very good quality and extremely sturdy. The assembly instructions were clear but it was a pain to get 2 of the plugs for the extension pieces out to finish the assembly. However, when I finally finished assembling the gate and mounted it, I was impressed. The gate is mounted using a tension method and if didn't budge, even after my toddler slammed it a few times. The gate is also easy for an adult to unlock, and can actually be done with one hand. All is all the Gate is great, assembly not so much. I would have preferred if the extension plugs were not pre-installed or embedded in the part, it was just a pain to remove, and the method suggested didn't work for me.

very easy to install in about 10-15 minutes and doesn't take 2 people to do it, i do wish it was a little taller but for the most part it is sturdy and works easily. i like that its not white and looks like it will blend better with the interior look

The sleek look of the wood and metal gate will blend in with most contemporary home designs. The assembled product (L x W x H) is 28" x 38" x 28". The gate accommodates an opening between 29 to 38 inches. The instruction sheet has written directions and drawings for best assembly. The tools needed, but not included, are a Phillips head screwdriver, a pencil, and a measuring tape. This gate was assembled by two tweens, ages nine and eleven. They needed help from an adult when two pieces wouldn't come apart (the extension caps from the gate). The use of a lubricant spray was all it took. Assembly time was two hours. The Safety First Wood and Metal Flat Slat Gate will be used in the entry way between a hallway and the kitchen. The toddler will be supervised, at all times, even with the entrance blocked by the gate. The red indicator will be checked and re-checked. We expect many months of constant use of the Safety First Wood and Metal Flat Slat Gate.

Unfortunately this baby gate doesn't fit the opening that I was hoping to use it for -- just a standard size stairwell going down into our basement, so that's disappointing. This gate only stretches to a maximum of 38", and that's with both the extenders attached. My second choice was to use it on our back deck, but I can't find anything in the instructions or product description about whether it would be acceptable to use this gate outside. Despite it being too small for what I needed it for, there are some things I like about this gate. The latch has a red/green indicator to easily show you if it's locked or not. I also like that the material seems really sturdy. There is a piece of gate always across the opening at the floor, even when the gate is open, that you have to step over, so that's kind of weird. Overall it seems sturdy and easier to install than my other hard-mounted baby gate that I have.
