Kept my escape artist cat from tearing an exit hole to the great outdoors!

I had been meaning to find someone to fix the screen on the back door. It seems easier to get someone to remodel a kitchen than it is to get someone to fix a screen. I got the kit and decided to try it myself. I checked the videos on line and started to fix it. The directions on the videos that I watched were clear. Everything except the box cutter came with the kit. The screen is fixed and looks great. I would recommend the kit to anyone who is willing to try. The hardest part was getting the screen off the door to get started.

This is heavy plastic style screen that should hold up to animals and kids pretty well. It is darker in color which im hoping may also help to keep some sun out in the mornings. It was very easy to install and this package fit our standard screen door perfectly with just a little bit left over. It would be better if the spline was on a spool instead of wrapped up. It gets kinked from being folded. Also, there should be a part of the screen tool that can be used to push the corners in tight.

So I got this durable Pet screen because our cat River climbed our screen chasing a fly. He wound up tearing the screen in 3 different places without even trying. He also enjoys laying in the window sill, so we wanted something strong enough to hold him. This screen is definitely good enough for holding him or his brother while sitting up there, but it's also going to be strong enough to hold up to him climbing up there. It's a little bit more difficult to get into the grooves of the frame grooves because it's a thicker material. Make sure you use the rubber seal they put in the package, it's just a little bit thinner so it works better with this thicker screen. Clean your frame thoroughly before installing the new screen, including the groove where the screen & rubber seal fit. The screen is also much darker than normal because of the thickness, so it doesn't let in as much sunlight. This is good in hotter areas or sunnier areas. If you are installing a large screen, you'll have those metal clips to put back in that assist you taking the screen out of the window frame. Because the screen material is thicker, it is difficult to get those back in place properly. I had to use a very small screw driver to gently press the rubber seal passed the clips. Watch the videos they have or just go to YouTube for some assistance. Finally be extremely careful when trimming off the excess screen material after fully installing the new screen into the frame. There are different ways to cut off the excess screen, just do your research & always cut away from you while using a blade. I would absolutely recommend this product, my wife & ours boys love the way it looks. Thanks

I got this screen to replace the two my dog destroyed trying to jump through. It took about twenty minutes to replace each one with the included spline tool and a pair of scissors. It's pet resistant, so the neighbor's cats should be safe now. The holes are still tiny like a screen should be, so it will do the job of keeping out flies and mosquitoes. The screen is made of polyester, which feels like a strong, stretchy plastic. Please don't be tempted to see if your pet bounces off of it though. Technically, I suppose they would.

I've never replaced a screen before. In this case I just needed to replace the lower part of a screen door. This was a relatively easy project, though it does require a good bit of pressure when using the tool to insert the spline and the corners require a bit of extra tucking if you don't cut them at the corners. Fortunately, Adfors has how-to videos on their website (address provided on the instructions included with the kit). They provide everything you need to do the installation (except a utility knife to trim the excess). When measuring, it says to add 2" to each of the four sides. Well, on my initial cut I added 2" at the side and 2" at the bottom so obviously I had a piece that was too small. Fortunately, there's enough to do a second, larger window. I then removed the screen from the door and laid it down on the screen and cut 2" from EACH edge. The spline tool has two rolling discs. One it mentions to use the concave end to insert spline for plastic screen (and the convex end to insert metal screen). I finally figured out that it's the disc that is concave because the disc has a groove running around the edge of it so it fits over the spline (no videos for me....until I completely give up). It's a shallow groove that will slip off of the splining while using it. Fortunately, the screen is very tough and never tore during the process. At the corners (at which I didn't cut the spline), I used a small, flat-blade screwdriver to help tuck the splining in. The screen self-tightens as you install the screen so you really don't have to pull on it to keep it from being "baggy" in the middle. To remove the excess, I tried scissors (utility knives were all the way out in the garage) and they cut a bit farther from the edge than I liked. I tried one of those things that holds tiny razor blades that you break off when they get dull. Really didn't cut. So I just took a sharp razor blade and slide it right around the edge. Just have to watch for nicking the splining. It doesn't seem to cut out much or any light. It's definitely heavier than my old screen and I don't see that doggy nails will be doing any damage to the new screen.

This screen comes as a kit with everything you need to do the install. It is thicker and stronger then your regular screens. It is pet resistant which is wonderful. I have had to replace my screen many times due to my pets ripping through the screen. I'm glad that won't be a problem anymore with this product. It does come with easy to follow directions and can be install by one person, I found that there was not much trimming to do after install which is nice because it's usually the hardest part. The visibility is good you can see in or out. I will not go back to the standards screens after using this product. The company also provides a website and phone number. This screen door replacement material is great my dogs can't treat it up at least so far that is the get antsy and want outside so they scratch at it I'm sure most of you have had the same issue. I do however have smaller dogs but they do have some wicked claws at times. I would recommend this replace if your looking for one

I have three dogs who scratch the doors when they see squirrels or birds or anything that moves. Sometimes their claws go right through the screen and tear it up. This screen guard prevents them from putting holes in my screen regularly. Easy to use and saves money in the long run. Dogs are confused but I’m happy!

This is a great product. The screen is durable and I like that the tools you need to put it in are included. I have a large dog (100 pounds) and it holds up well to him climbing on it to get into the house. The only issue is because of how it's designed, I don't get the breeze that I did with my old screen. But it's a small price to pay.
