Originally from Chicago , i grew up loving Salerno butter cookies. Their butter cookies and mint creme patties were my favorite. I understand Salerno went out of business a long time ago. Happily surprised to discover that we can still get the butter cookies. They're not exactly the same as the ORIGINAL original cookie, but when dunked in mill for a flash, they taste more like the cookie Salerno produced decades ago. Now my whole family is enjoying them. I wish Snyder's/Lance would bring back the mint creme patties!
these cookies brought back memories of my childhood.
Reminds me of my childhood.
I mean, they're Salerno Butter Cookies. According to my dad, their biggest fan (no really - he is) the taste has changed slightly, but not enough for him to drop them like a bad habit. He's been eating these cookies for as long as I've been alive, and probably longer - I mean, they're in Polaroid photos of us when I was a toddler. I sent him a package this month to cheer him up a bit and you would have thought I sent him a million dollars. The cookies arrived unbroken, and perfect for him. Now, instead of having to wait until he visits us to stock up, I can just send him a 'care package' and everyone is happy!
These cookies I ate during my childhood. They aren't as good as when I was growing up, still pretty good though. I'm excited I was able to find them and order due to no longer living in my hometown. Thank you Walmart.com the ONLY place I could find them.
Very disappointed. My husband loves these cookies and I selected them without viewing the weight but the price was over $3 so I assumed it was the same size box as the one I get when I shop at Meijer. It was not. This box was 8 ounces, very small, probably half the size of the box I get at Meijer for pennies more. Will not buy these from Walmart again.
All four boxes that arrived are dated just three days from now! May 24th! This was deliberate, deceitful, and disappointing. What a horrible trick to play on a consumer by NOT disclosing the expiration date of available products that are outside of a REASONABLE time frame. Absolutely SHAMEFUL!!!!!!
I read the other reviews and I thought they would have fixed the problem of them coming smashed but they had not, they sent them in a bag and not a Box and the cookies were completely smashed. So disappointing and if I do a return I have to take it back to the store or I have to have fedex take care of it? Are you kidding me? That's ridiculous.
The cookies are as great as they were when I was a child. However, every time we order these they come in completely broken up and not intact. We have ordered these 3 times now and not once have the cookies come in without being all broken up. Poor shipping.
I bought 6 boxes of cookies to ship to my father as a gift. He grew up on the cookies and they have always been his favorite. All six boxes arrived and at least 1/3 of each box had broken cookies and they were broken into small pieces. Also, all six boxes were stale and expire in September. Shelf life 2 months. Do not order these cookies!
