I've been buying these for a long time. I freeze what I won't be using for a few days. They hold up well and when cut in half can fit in a toaster (at an angle).
They taste good but they're not puffy enough to be pre-separated. When you attempt to separate they crumble. Anywhere that there was a fold in the dough, becomes a tear ripping the pita from top to bottom.
The best by date on the package is 7/16/23--today is 7/20/23--this item should not have been used to fulfill my order--it should have been pulled from inventory.
I purchased this product on May 26 online to have it delivered to my home. The Best If Used By Date is May 26! Next time I will know to spend some gas money to go to the store myself to pick out a fresh pack for a later date if they have it available. The employees who pick these items should properly know how to shop for the freshest of groceries that they purchase for customers! Please be aware of this issue before you order anything food related online to be picked up or delivered!
Very disappointed when I got home with my order from the pick-up order on April 9th went to use this product and it had mold on it. Checked the date and it was outdated on April 10th. Only 1 day to use it...bad service! I live 40 mins away and I don't have the luxury of return it easily.
What good is a pocket pita if you cannot open it and stuff it? This is the second time that I have bought this product, and only because the Joseph's brand was unavailable. When you slice the pita in half and then try to open it, you can barely get a 2 inch opening before the pita sticks together and rips. These pitas are only good for cutting I to wedges for hummus.....not for a sandwich. If I wanted to dip pieces in hummus I would buy something that wasn't touted as a "pocket".
If the pita pockets are not covered in mold (come on - if they are spoiled get rid of them), they are impossible to open up. They are like two pieces of tissue paper stuck together. If they are sold as pita pockets, they should be able to be opened up!!!!!! They are not pockets!!!!!
Advertised as “pocket” pita. I was disappointed the first time I purchased this. Too thin to put veggies inside. Gave it a second chance and couldn't even open it up as a pocket.
Just picked up my groceries. The expiration date says 1/18 and today is the 21st. I tried to do a refund and they want me to physically return it. I'd spend more in gas driving back to Walmart then what the pita bread is worth. Very frustrated.
07.17.23: Walmart pickup order. Today is the same as the last pickup order for Sam's Choice White Pocket Pita WITHIN 1 DAY OF THE EXPIRATION DATE! WHY??? 2 Times in a row. Walmart, you are letting me/us down.
