I have got this lovely Book2 Pro since the beginning of April 2022. When i opened the package it arrived in, it impressed me. I have since used the laptop a lot and must say I am surprised how good it is. The 16Gb make a lot of difference. Had there been a 32Gb version, I would have gone for that, but it was not available. I bought the laptop to take along with me when I am writing my books. I use it mainly for research on the internet and then with Scrivener to write. The long-lasting battery is excellent. Provided I do not sit in direct sunlight, the battery lasts me the entire day. In direct sunlight, however, it does become a drain on the battery. However, one can extend the usage time if one changes the background colours to a darker mode. I would have liked the display, which is excellent with amazing colours, to be a little brighter when I sit in some coffee shop and write in the sunshine. (one perk of the job.) I absolutely love the keyboard. It is a joy to type on it. I prefer to use a mouse instead of the touchpad. So I switch the touchpad off. Sometimes the space is too narrow and I have to use the touchpad, and it is so easy to switch it on. When it gets dark, I enjoy the back-lit keyboard. It makes life so much easier. Everything considered, it is an outstanding laptop for the price.
Awesome design, light, slim and compact. Snappy performance with the latest 12th generation i7 processor and 16gb RAM. Can run some light games and moderate games on lower settings, but then again this is not a gaming laptop. For everyday use the performance is excellent. It's got all the essential ports which is a surprise for laptops nowadays (HDMI/USB A/2x USB-C/SD Card Reader/Aux Headphone socket). The latest variants of WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2 are a dream to connect to my BT Smart Hub and my Samsung Galaxy s21 5g smartphone. I do update the laptop's software/apps by using windows update, Microsoft store update and Samsung update, at least monthly. Full HD webcam is present for clear camera performance. The only downside is the battery life. It's nowhere near as good as the advertised but maybe I need to change some settings?
i love the weight, style, and power of this laptop. the battery life is awesome, once fully charged i can go the 7 whole day without another recharge. the screen aesthetics are also great, the colors and contrast really pop for this computer (needless to say movies look awesome on this computer). sound quality is also great, you can have multiple selection of where the audio comes from (both speakers separately, or a combined sound from both speakers, or one side louder than the other). the customization on this computer is also great and it is extra extra fast in starting up and loading programs. definitely got my money' s worth with this computer, i would purchase again.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When you first open the box a beautiful silver, slim laptop is there waiting. It is very nicely packaged with the computer and USBC charger. It is partially charged for easy start up. It was charged at 15% and within 10 minutes of plugging it in it was at 30%. There are two USBC ports, HDMI output, a USB 3.0 which makes for faster data transfer, a micro SD slot as well as a microphone jack. Once I turned it on I had to sign in with my microsoft account and customize a few quick settings and I was up and running. The desk top runs a full Windows operating system. It resembles a standard microsoft laptop. The screen is full view with a thin frame and very vibrant picture. The keyboard is a pretty white color with nice back light. The touch pad is large and its responsiveness is customizable to your liking. It has a large 500gb hard drive and was not much bloatware pre-installed so a majority of space is still available. One aspect I wish this had was a touch screen. It has 8GB of RAM and a Core i5 processor so everything runs pretty quickly and running multiple programs or windows does not lag. It also comes with Windows 11 Home installed. It has a Microsoft store so all of your favorite apps are available and easy to download. This being a Samsung device is great for me because my phone is a Samsung so having the Samsung catalog of apps available makes a seamless transition from one device to the next. You can pick up where you left off and all your data can be accessed conveniently. Using the Quick Share option can be useful to easily transfer information. Aside from this being a full capability Microsoft computer it is also an extension of your current Samsung devices. I feel like that is what sets it apart from other laptops or computers. Overall, this is a great device that will simplify my projects and day to day usage and I would definitely recommend especially because it is so easy to use.
I am on the journey to build my own Samsung Ecosystem, I already have a Samsung smart TV, S22 ultra phone, Galaxy buds pro and now bought this Laptop as my latest addition (Galaxy Tab & Watch coming in the future). Pros: I absolutely love the premium design, the beautiful white smooth keyboard and how incredibly thin & lightweight it is; I just love everything about it physically. The laptop comes with built in Samsung apps for the ecosystem. Having all my synced apps, notes and seamless connections makes it very convenient for everyday use. EVERYTHING is amazing except for the 2 cons down below. Cons: The touchpad is too big and bit too much to the right. The palm of my right hand always ends up pressing on the touchpad when typing which ends up clicking the mouse wherever it is. This disrupts my typing a lot, and can get very annoying. The biggest deal breaker is the 1080p screen resolution, there isn't even the option to switch down from 1440p. For £1399 in 2022, it is very outdated and over priced to not have this. Even Samsung phones have 1440p resolution which doesn't make sense because it is almost impossible to see the difference on such a small screen. However, on a laptop with a 15.6inch screen it makes a huge difference and becomes very obvious especially when trying to read the text on webpages and being able to see the pixels around it. The AMOLED display is incredible as always but the low resolution defeats the purpose of the AMOLED display and I think it is a step backwards. I am returning this laptop in 3 days after contacting Samsung for returns. Unless Samsung offers me £1000 off when I trade-in this laptop during the pre-order phase of Galaxy book 3 pro (when it comes out in a years time), there is no reason for me to hold on to this laptop. I shall await patiently for the Galaxy book 3 pro (can't wait to pre-order it!!!) Please don't let me down and have a 1440p display Samsung! Thank you for reading.
Pros: Great build + feel, keyboard and trackpad are first class. Quiet keys with just enough travel for an ultralight, ultra thin laptop. Screen is very bright and high contrast as AMOLED. Cons: Only 1080p (FHD) - it's really too low resolution for a 15"+ screen, fuzzy view all the way. 16:9 aspect ratio is outdated, doesnt work well for web browsing or productivity (which will be the main purpose for most people buying this, not video watching - you'd just get a tablet for that). Request to Samsung: Please make a 16:10, QHD screen version of this! (at least as an option to upgrade from FHD). I know 4K is too much for battery purposes, but only FHD is a shame, mars an otherwise awesome product. Also, it's great that it's extremely thin but it'd be fine to add a small amt of thickness/weight for more battery to offset the power for a QHD screen. For comparison, I also tested an LG Gram 16. The build is not as rigid/solid, keyboard is much worse, but the screen is far better with crisp text and 16:10 display.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love the aesthetics of this laptop, it looks great! It's super thin, and the display looks amazing. The keys seem to type quietly ( and they are backlit). However, from the day I got this laptop it seems to run a bit on the slow side! I know it has a ton of programs already loaded on there that you really don't need taking up the memory when you're trying to run other programs. One program in particular that I didn't like was the McAfee antivirus. It quickly outdated and now it asks me if I want to pay a subscription to keep it going, which can be excessive. I've had the computer for a few weeks now, and it's only progressively gotten slower. I got a blue screen saying my laptop was damaged and it was attempting repair. It took me several times of restarting it to get it back to acting normal. I would say at this point, I'm not sure if i got a dud or that's just how this laptop is unfortunately.
the problem with buying online is that you can't feel the product and this laptop feels made of very cheap materials. i thought i was buying a laptop with a touchscreen because it was pro model and the price, but it wasn't. the most positive thing i see about this laptop is the battery life, that's not disappointing
DON'T BUY IT!!!! I purchased the computer 2 months ago. The extra features are what attracted me to buy the computer. (Touch Screen, 512 SSD, 12 GB Ram etc.) When I complained to the store where I purchased it, about the battery time, I was told it was my fault. I still cannot believe that a 2-month old computer (not being used), sitting idle (Over night) can chew up a full charge in 3 hours. The retailer did nothing to help me and solve the issue.
I really hate and regret buying this laptop. The keyboard is incredibly sensitive and results in too many unwanted screen selections or screen freeze. There are no hardcover laptop protectors available and limited softcover ones. The laptop is VERY fragile. There is a small dent from a PEN falling on top. I wanted to try samsung laptops since i heard there were great reviews but the quality is so poor and the keyboard sensitivity is so ridiculous it makes me want to fling it out the window. As a grad student I use my computer every day so this has been a frustrating experience.
