I ordered this thinking it was an external storage drive, but when it arrived and I realised I'd purchased the wrong thing, I then purchased an enclosure for it and it works brilliantly! Great product, no trouble with it.

Hello, this is my 7th SSD from the Evo series with the previous ones being 2 840s 3 850s and 1 960, and like with all the other Samsung Evos I have had price/performance is stellar, I don't have any issues on this just like I didn't have any issues with my previous SSDS which I still have in raids etc. in my desktop computer, this one is just to add extra storage. Thanks for the reliable SSDs you make. It's the only Samsung products I buy, but it is also the best products Samsung makes. The design is kinda meh, but it's hidden away so it's no big deal to me. I vastly prefer the design of the M.2s but again, form factor makes this impossible to replicate.

I replaced a really slow HDD in my Toshiba laptop with the 500Gb SSD, and it was so simple. Samsung's Data Migration s/w made the cloning process so easy. Instead of minutes to awaken from hibernation, it is now only seconds. I was so impressed I upgraded my brother-in-law's laptop (also with a very slow and old HDD) with with a second 860 EVO 500Gb SSD, with very similar pleasing results. I also really appreciate having the Magician monitoring s/w too.

I use 970 EVO plus 1 Tb ssd for Windows Op. System -Put the 860 EVO 1 Tb. in for my DSD music files. Definite decrease in responce time, one song can be 1 Gb. HDD had up to 7.5ms time to .7ms time for 860 EVO. Probably should have went with more Tb. Very Pleased.

I've purchased a few SSD';s for desktop HDD replacements and after the first two, including their RMA's failed, I sought input from fellow PC enthusiasts and the Samsung 860-EVO was the SSD recommended by a lot of individuals! Well over a dozen people informed me that I would not be disappointed with this SSD, and after using it since early April 2018 I have to report I am extremely pleased! Thanks to anyone who suggested this SSD and furthermore, anybody looking for an SSD, don't purchase a low end less expensive SSD...buy this one and you won't be disappointed!! Thanks Samsung!

This is my fourth SSD from Samsung but my first 860. I have nothing bad to say about this and funnily enough it's even faster than the advertised speed during benchmarks. The speeds dropped 5-10 MB/s after updating to the latest driver but it's still faster than advertised and like before, this was measured with a benchmarking tool and probably not noticeable in real life.

bought this for gaming, and programs start about 30% faster with no stuttering during gameplay. The 1 TB is a must to start, but might add another SSD in the future..this is plenty of storage for most of my programs...Slim design and easy install. Setup in disk management on windows is a snap...highly recommended.

dead straight out of the box. I connected it via my SATA-to-USB3 adapter to 3 different computers, not recognized on any of them. I even went through the "Disk Management" exercise just to see if I need to format it but it's simply not recognized. Just for verification, I took out an existing 2.5" drive from one of my laptops and connected it to the same computers via the same SATA-to-USB3 adapter and it was recognized on all 3 computers. This SSD is a dud. Was supposed to be a "premium" product...

I'm a computer tech/analyst. I bought this drive based on reviews and price. Had an OS error last time I tried to boot into Windows, so I re-imaged my laptop. Today, trying to handle current Coronavirus related issues, it stalls with the SMART error "Checking media {Fail}. No time is convenient for a drive failure, but this drive let me down at an unbelievably bad time. I can't wait to have to deal with tech support.

purchased in dec 2019 and put in samsung laptop. sept 2020 laptop quits working and tech tell me its battery and motherboard. issue is this drive. laptop recognizes it is there (according to bios) but laptop caught in boot loop. replaced this drive and everything works. plugged drive in another pc via usb and drive doesn't show up. tried to contact samsung online and it said i had to call. called and just left on hold forever. i would advise a more experienced ssd manufacturer.
