People are surprised to find out this isn't an actual piece of art hanging on the wall when I switch from art mode to tv mode. It's nice not having a giant black square in the living room all of the time. Picture is very good. #sweepstakes
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] For years we've had an ultra short throw projector on top of our piano because we don't want to see a TV in our room. So many living rooms are TV centric and that's not what we want. We enjoy TV but we're not glued to it. We've arranged our room for conversation and music. When our projector bit the dust, I found The Frame. I was worried it would still distract too much in our room and be visually imposing, but it's not! It looks like a nice framed picture hanging above our piano with no visible wiring. The sound is incredible for just being a TV (I'm an audio engineer and there's definitely some magic going on) and the picture quality is just fantastic. Not to mention all the intelligent eco settings. I'm so happy we got this TV that is only a TV when it's on. When it's off it's just adding to the design and decor of the room. I'm thrilled Samsung product team / engineers / designers realized not everyone wants a 60" gaping black void at the focal point of their living room!
We waited for the 2019 version to be released and I'm so glad we did. The picture quality is leaps and bounds better than the 2018 version we saw in store. Utilizing the art gallery mode has incorporated the TV as a feature of the room instead of an object we'd have to design around. Please note that it's not totally cordless as there is a thin cable that comes out the bottom to the connect box. We managed to run the wire through the wall in which it was mounted on and have the connect box hidden behind a ledge. One thing that did surprise me, although not a big deal, is how heavy the actual TV is. Lastly, I'm really looking forward to working my way through the art!
We first bought a Frame in 2017 when we remodeled our house and hung it over the fireplace. It was a good TV but the art made it a completely awesome animal. Spring forward to this summer and we sold the house and moved. Of course the new owners asked for the TV to be included, which we agreed to. When we got to our new home, one thing we both agreed on was that we wanted another Frame TV. It really is a game changer from the old dumb black screen when folks are over. Doesn't hurt that it also sounds good for a TV which means you really can live without the soundbar or speakers that give away the fact it is a TV.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So far so good! I wanted to buy a TV that would make a statement, and this one does. In my case 80% of the time I do not watch TV, and I do not want to see a horrible black screen when I don't watch Any show or movie. This tv is a master piece when in art mode. I can see a hundreds of master pieces or my own pictures In high resolution. It's a pleasure to see it. In TV mode is beautiful with it's new QLED screen. I bee using it for 2 months now and all I can say is wow! What a great tv. Good resolution and sharpness, And the ability to change the settings to your preferences is so smart. The quality of shows on 4K is outstanding!
The main drawback for this set is the Samsung OneConnect. When researching online and seeing the display model in store I was not aware of the large black box that connects all external wires (HDMI, power and stereo) to the back of the set through a thin silver wire. It was very difficult to find a place to conceal this when trying to keep to the minimal design we had planned. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] App works GREAT but there is a TON of improvements that need to be done with the app... It never connects to the TV which leaves changing your artwork worthless... Fix the app to make this a Perfect TV
Hi. This review is for the newbie (like me) who is just transitioning to wall mount and QLED/flat panel. In a nutshell, if you need a flush mount QLED, this is a nice tv. Really opens up a small space having it hung on wall with no need for bulky console. The TV is easy to use for streaming, has nice sound and I love the remote/navigation. But . . .wish I had known: 1) For bright spaces, this does not look like art. It looks like a monitor with a screen saver. The screen is highly reflective. When not in use almost looks like a smoke mirror and on/off you'll see your blinds/glowing lamp on the screen. Probably no different than other new large format, but not the case with my older TV. Physical/advertising display not representative. 2) The TV frame will not stay pressed up against the wall if you do not have perfect receptacle in back or perfectly straight walls - but it is close. 3) Can't find the setting that lets you just watch the same lapping waves, or moving scene. Thought that came with the TV. 4) Pre-programmed art probably has a color scheme for everyone, but selection is very limited. Wish company would allow at least one personalized selection without additional cost as other QLEDs are cheaper and it's the whole point of the TV. 5) Can't figure out how to default to art mode when turning tv back on - so need to keep clicking through to art mode each time. 6) The motion sensor is not working as expected but maybe I just need to fiddle with it. I do love art though, so if they expand the library, beef up the artist profiles, and keep it affordable/convenient I will be happy.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The concept of a piece of framed art instead of an obnoxious tv on the wall is really amazing and that helps make up for its short falls which primarily is the software. The OS seems ok-ish (as it works) but the experience is almost painful. Trying to disable the tv from playing grainy resolution and loud food network every time it turned on was a test of patience and my level of tech rain dancing. The art mode is really cool, but also frustrating to interact with the art interface because it retains the low brightness of art mode so everything is hard to see. Sponsored apps?? I just paid a very premium price for a moderate tv with a cool gimmick, there should be no sponsored anything. Period. Seems buggy as well. My wired connection comes and goes (based on the toast) and the tv is never really in the same state it was left when I turn it on. Resume to app doesn't work, etc, etc. The voice assistant is kind of worthless. Not understanding that Google Home needed the Smartthings link and not Samsung was super frustrating and ripped a few hours of my life away. We got a brown frame as part of the purchase and it's neat, really sells the 'frame' concept and should be included with purchase. Definitely not worth MSPR as it's just plastic. This is our first Samsung purchase and I'm not sure it's worth it yet.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This screen is amazing. The promotion did not come with the frame. It was disappointing to find out. Some of the apps do not support on Samsung. The voice control is not accurate. It needs to have a smoother control.Overall I am happy with purchase.
