I purchased this TV 6 months ago, and could not be more pleased with it's performance. After reading the set-up guide, I found the menu to be very user friendly. Picture colours, clarity & resolution, and sound quality are first rate, especially when viewing in Full HD or 4K, and accessing streaming services such as Netflix is very easy. I preview 4K imagery for my drone photography business on this big screen and you can almost count the blades of grass from 30 metres up (that's about 110 feet!). Watching movies is just like being in my own hi tech and comfortable cinema, with the surround sound set to my preferences. Highly recommended.
I've had this TV for 2 months now and it is my first smart TV, connected it direct to the broadband modem and it works great, streams movies and TV shows nicely, I love it, I need to get a wireless keyboard and mouse however, navigating the inbuilt electronic keyboard using the remote control is a painful process.
We did need to adjust the background darkness. First TV where we needed to do that. But subsequently we are very pleased with it. The speed that it starts up is great too. Our only complaint now is with the remote control. The buttons on the bottom line which includes "Play" and "Pause" are a little too small, and difficult to locate in a hurry, especially when light is dimmed. Overall, a good TV at a great price.
To have a 4 year old 55inch FHD 3D LED blow up on me was disappointing. Luckily, I had product care from my place of purchase and was able to get this tv as a replacement with the money. Wish I had read these reviews first. Being a Samsung man, I was happy with each new TV purchase with the advances in the new technology. But to get to this model, and find such an outdated remote, and worse still to find it has no record function, makes me wish I had never bought it. Waste of time for me without a record function on it. Could not be more displeased. How can such a forward moving company get it so wrong. Pull your socks up Samsung. You've just lost a customer.
I have had this TV for 12 months and for the most part it is OK. Connectivity to external speakers often fails after TV power off (using a Samsung soubdbar connected via ARC) using an external media player just does not work after first reboot. The wireless connection drops out on TV restart and takes a very long time to start working again even though the connection and IP address is allocated immediately by my router. Log in to the Samsung portal fails consistently for no reason. There are also random sound drop outs for a half second which seems consistent with other forum posts I am seeing on Samsung TVs. In mu experience this TV is the same with the Samsung phone range. Hardware is good for the most part, but the software fails to deliver.
I bought this tv hoping that the price difference with cheaper competitors was worth it, but probably it wasn't. The picture has nice high resolution, but the colors are unnatural. No matter how much you play with the advanced settings, the outdoor colors and contrasts are way off. Two other big negatives are: 1) it does not read Divx. 2) It cannot record programs on USB (I though it did when I bought it!). Also, it doesn't have a standard jack port for the audio, only optical digital. Overall disappointing.
Having been a Samsung fan I bought this TV without checking all the details :-( Unfortunately I found that there is no Bluetooth! These days, one would expect this as a basic connection option. I don't know whether it can be added as a firmware update. I also have connected a wireless keyboard/mouse combo only to find that the mouse only works with the internet browser and not with other connections like YouTube. Audio seems to vary from channel to channel and adjustments for audio are VERY limited.
Money wasted Our expansive television and vacuum stopped working, and no one responded to fix or replace it. What a shame, company.
Was given this tv as a Christmas gift from my partner. Everything was going perfect until Monday 1st July when the LED stopped working from the middle of the screen to the entire right hand side of the screen. Super disappointed. It is only being replaced, who is to say it won't happen again?
Display is high quality but don't fall for "SMART" features. They are no different than what is found on cheap TVs. Samsung's own apps don't work with this TV. I have tried both Smart View and Smart Things from Mobile but no way to make them work. No way to remote control it other than the absurd remote control that they ship with it. No WiFi connectivity even with a Samsung mobile phone. I preferred this one over a Sony that was $200 cheaper but turned out to be waste of money.
