Samsung DVD-V9800 DVD VCR Combo

I wanted a quality DVD/VHS player for my bedroom TV. I have played VHS tapes and DVDs. The quality of the picture and sound on my 19" HD television is excellent. Also, my satellite signal passes through the DVD\VHS player with no noticable degredation of the picture (even HD) when the player is off. The remote is a little hard to read due to my poor eyesight, but I have already started to remember the locations of the buttons (I knew this when I bought it).

Exmeccent I purchased this product this past June and when I played a DVD, the picture was nice and crisp. The clarity of the picture was great. The VCR worked flawlessly also. I love the instant "tracking control" of this model. I am most happy with the "E-Z VIEW" feature this model has to eliminate the black "bars" on the upper and lower portions of the screen when I watch a DVD. Overall, this an excellent product!!

i had to purchase a new tv, dvd player and vcr when i moved because my old ones were 10 years old or more and had stopped working. i have a mix of dvd's and vhs tapes that i watch and since there is nowhere to find a vcr new at a retail store, i decided to purchase a dvd, vcr combo and this samsung player was a great purchase all the way around. #1 the price was exactly what i wanted to spend which is reasonable. #2 it functions well with no confusion and it's easier to use than similar dvd/vcr combos i have used at others houses #3 i have seen combos that have come in almost a beige color including the remote which show such wear so fast, but this unit and remote are black so as an artist even when my hands are smudgy i don't have to worry about washing my hands to pause a movie or fastforward. #4 my new tv is a flat panel and is high definition and the vcr still plays like a vcr, but the dvd player plays all my movies clearer than i've ever seen them. i am totally satisfied with this player and i could have purchased the more expensive one which i believe was double the price, but that would have been a waste of money because this device exceeded my expectations and i'm extremely happy with my purchase. i highly recommend this product to anyone. i may be purchasing another as a gift in the near future.

I liked the price , and product quality. However buttons on the device and on the remotecontrol are not easy to read. I recommend purchasers at walmart to buy something more userfriendly next time.

a little pricey, but if you have to have dvd/vhs then this is a great choice. It has an hdmi port on the back for improved picture and sound quality and it connects quickly to old or new tvs.

Great product! It plays all types of DVDs. Remote is a little small & hard to find stuff on it but the picture quality is excellent.

Only had the player for about a month now. Have seen several DVD'S and VHS movies and was extremely please with everything.

I like this product because it cuts down on space I would have to have for two items. I tried transfering my vhs to dvd but it did not work and when I found this item it was just what I needed.

I really do not recommend this product. I have had it about 3 months and the DVD will not play. It says to Load but will not read the DVD. Nearly $100 and I figured it would be very useful. I was wrong. I WAS using it about once a week, I dont think that was too often. Also, the buttons are not easy to read. I just figured that it being Samsung would make a difference, instead of buying some off-brand. I am very upset with this product and hope other people will not make this purchase.

I originally ordered 2 units and they arrived in a box that was BARELY still in one piece. One unit was broken; one worked. Reordered new one which arrived last week and when installed yesterday discovered it does not work either. It's a pain to have to keep making trips to the post office to return these and wait another week for one that might work. I'm using these in a conference room setting, so I hope that they will last once I recieve them working.
