The Best there is!

Oldtechi February 1, 2017

I have the 64GB Note 5. Had it 14 months. I think it's the absolute best smartphone available to date. I wanted to update to the Note 7, but that was not to be. I've researched every phone that has been released and some that haven't. The only replacement for my Note 5, will be the Note 8! Can't wait!

I love my Note 5!

Bliss555 May 14, 2016

I am on-call and this phone does not ever drop calls and has wonderful GPS. I go to different locations for work; so GPS is important. This phone is a business tool, not a toy. I have not had time to explore all of the non-business, fun features yet. Everything else will just be a bonus to the already excellent performance of my Note 5.

I love my Note 5 BUT....

SuSam September 11, 2016

I love my Note 5, but.... the recent software update screwed up the split screen function. I bought the Note5 because I can split screen my Blue Letter Bible App with the Note5 S Note. Just upgraded the software this past week and when I got to church, I could no longer split the screen with my Bilbe app and the S Note. Also.. why can'tI split the screen with S Note while I'm talking on the phone or looking at my contacts? I know it can happen... just retweek the software....PLEASE!!!!!

Great phone, waiting a while for the replacement though...

RealtorJim March 14, 2017

I got this phone when it first came out to replace my Note 4. Everything about the phone is great except for battery life. It is constantly on the charger and I now have to carry a portable charger with me if I am out for the night. I really hope the replacement for this phone doesn't have a curved screen because there isn't much to hold and your fingers are always accidentally touching the screen.

Great Device

tagonn2321 September 18, 2015

I recommend this if you love big screen phones for media consumption and for productivity. The S-Pen is amazing I've always loved the Samsung Galaxy S series of phones wanted a Note phone for a while but the carrier I was on didn't have them then I switched to Verizon as soon as they offered a non-contract plan. Then I grabbed the Note 5 as soon as I could love the features that it offers you can always look up videos on YouTube to show you all the features and learn about the deice. I recommend getting it if you need to take notes or watch allot of videos or even live stream on YouTube it is a perfect device for this.

Overall, great phone with lots of features

PineNut July 7, 2016

Upgraded from a Samsung Galaxy S5. As expected, GN5 is much faster thanks to processor and memory upgrades. The camera is much quicker on startup and execution. The S Pen is a great addition, although you can stick it back in the phone upside down. It seems like a simple design feature that was overlooked. The solid "metal" build is definitely an upgrade over the plastic-y feel of the GS5. So far, so good. Oh, random complaint...why didn't you include headphones Samsung?

great phone just missing a micro sd and slippery in the hands

ccheng00 August 24, 2015

ok so this is my first review but here goes nothing likes 1. love the speed of the processor on the phone 2. love the screen size and picture quality 3. love the feel in the hand 4. battery life has been good so far dislikes 1. major dislike - no micro sd slot 2. speaker is not loud enough and playing games that need to turn sideways the sound gets muffled. 3. very slippery phone, glass looks nice on the back but just slippery 4. wish it had the same ppi as the galaxy 6 edge but that not really a big one 5. replacement battery would be nice again back cover should come off if you slide it up or down thats how it should have been made so you can get to micro sd and battery

I like some things but I also miss several things

Dadof11 October 1, 2015

I really love using the S Pen and the speed of the phone seems to be good (much improved over my Galaxy S4). I was disappointed that the battery isn't removable and that I can't add more memory on a micro SD card. I also have major problems charging it on the wireless charger with my case on it. Since the majority of users have some kind of case on their phone, it would seem that it should be able to charge well through the case. I would recommend this to friends, but I'd also let them know about several of the features that disappoint.

I received the wrong product that wasnt compatible with my carrier. The charging cord didn't fit the phone or the cube it came with. It wasn't in new condition, the phone was scratched and wouldn't hold a charge.

5 Star Device BEFORE Marshmallow Update

Nhtcarguy April 12, 2016

When I first puchased the Note 5 I absolutely loved this phone. Fantastic camera, long battery life (I routinely got up to 2days, 20 hrs battery life), great features such as S-Pen, and solid performance all around. Then, a few weeks ago I received the update to Android Marshmallow. Unfortunately since the update, many of the things I love about the phone are broken. Battery life which used to last almost 3 days, now lasts only about 14hrs, barely enough to get through 1 day (note that 1 of marshmallow's biggest new features is Doze, which substantially increases battery life when the phone ramains untouched for a long time, IE. overnight, but me phone routinely loses 20% battery overnight where it used to only lose about 3%). Also, the Wifi is now terrible as it cannot hold a signal, causing webpages not to load and causing much frustration. Even after I received a carrier update supposed to fix the wifi, it hasnt really improved much at all. It is a shame that Samsung took an incredible device and ruined it with a software update. The phone has great features such as the aforementioned S-pen, good performance, a great screen, and a great camera but these new problems quicklt overshadow the features. Although I used to love the Note 5, since the update I can't wait to get rid of it. Samsung, please release a fix for these problems so I (and many others experiencing similar problems) don't regret the purchase.
