great tablet is really loud has amazing display and great quality is super thin don't feel like a tablet
Great tablet. I upgraded from a Samsung Galaxy Tab S2. It has extra RAM @ 6 MB and extra memory @ 128 GB storage. It is very fast and easy to use. The screen is superior. Buy it, you will like it.
This is amazing! Got it for JWLibrary app and ministry, Zoom is working great on it as well for meetings
I LOVE IT!!! The clarity of the screen viewing. The quick response to commands! The lightweight handling of Tab. The fast installment and transfer of data to my new Tab! Need I say more?! This is truly a high quality Tablet. Move over Apple....this beats all, including the price! Thanks, Samsung!!!
I compared this to an ipad and purchased this. Mostly easy to figure out. Large screen for meetings. The button to turn on is really deep in the groove on the side making it a little hard to push for the 6 seconds to turn it on.
First let me start off by contradicting the other reviews, you CAN use headphones with this tablet!! It comes with an adapter! I almost didn't buy it due to this, glad I took the chance and bought it anyway. I was looking for something faster, my 2 previous tablets were incredibly slow after probably 1 year. I bought this because it has 6mb of RAM, so far its great. I have an 11" tablet also, and the screen on this Samsung at 10.5" just feels larger and the graphics look awesome! Its so clear. It was worth it to me to spend a little more (the previous tablets I have purchased were $150 or less) to get better performance, that being said, I think it was a pretty good deal especially since it was on sale. This same tablet on the Samsung website was around $80 more.
Coming from a Samsung Galaxy Tab S2, this is slight upgrade. Though the S2 had a slightly higher screen resolution, the Tab 5 SE is perfectly acceptable. My tablet is used mainly for media consumption and very light gaming and the performance is adequate. The only issue I have with Samsung tablets is that at-the-most, you will see maybe one OS update and spotty security updates which means if you value security, do not make financial transactions on this tablet once the updates stop.
The only caveat is a may not be suitable if your wi-fi is not strong. The wi-fi antenna is in the corner of the tablet and can cause problems. You can search google for the wi-fi problems. I switched my router to 2.4 ghz from 5.0 ghz and then had plenty of signal. Very fast tablet. Great for media consuption like Netflix, etc. Facebook app is very good as well.
This one is a hit or miss device for me. I have an iPad Air 2, but with a limit of 128gb memory I decided to upgrade a bit. The iPad Air is serving me fine, but the memory limitation was what prompted to upgrade a bit. I thought a little larger screen would be nice too, so 10-10.5 inch. The screen size wasn’t the big item, it was the memory. We travel and take a lot of pictures and when people want to see them, we were limited by the iPad. And, yes, I can afford even the most expensive iPad Pro. But for what I want to use a tablet for, I didn’t want to go overboard. I have laptops and computers for other things and a computer will always outperform a phone or table for most tasks. For apps I use my phone, just easier for me to hold. We wanted a tablet because of the weight, size and portability with some decent screen real estate. You have to know what you are going use a device for. There really isn’t an all in one product for everything. There are always trade-offs. Because of the small screen size, screen resolution wasn’t a big factor for us. Any higher def is fine for pictures. Forward and backward cameras with 4k capability wasn’t important. we rather use a phone than a tablet for casual pictures. Hard to pocket a tablet. Other pictures we use a point and shoot camera which out performs any tablet or phone anyway. Anything requiring better pictures, we have digital cameras. I saw the price of the current iPad Air with more memory. Seriously Apple? The iPad Air base 65gb upgrade to 256gb (max memory) is $150. The regular iPad can only upgrade to 128gb. The iPad Pro base is 128gb. Upgrade the iPad Pro to 512gb is $300 more. The S5e is not the latest greatest version of the Samsung tablets but I wasn’t willing to pay more for the S6. I limited myself to the $400 to under $500 range. The Samsung S6 Lite falls in that range, but I just wasn’t impressed with the specs for it. It appeared to be more in line with a base iPad and I wanted something more in the iPad Air class. Because of the cost, the only Apple product I considered was the iPad Air. I don’t use a tablet as my main source of data or processing of pictures and such. I mostly use it for watching a movie when my TV is not available, planes and vacations, and showing pictures. The Samsung S5e appeared to be the most similar to the iPad Air, so that is why I went with it instead of the Tab A. On sale, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S5e total, with tax and product fees, was about 10% less than the iPad Air base price. To me, moving to Samsung tablet was a no brainer. A 512gb memory card was about $80, so for a few dollars more than a base iPad Air, I got a 10.5 inch tablet with 512gb of memory. I’ve had the S5e for a while now and I do notice some differences with my older iPad Air. I prefer the way Apple does their menus and sub menus. It just seems more logical to me. Minor things like switching networks (we have multiple in our home for various reasons) and even finding the available memory is just more logical on the iPad. The S5e screen isn’t as responsive to me as the Apple. A lot of times touching the screen doesn’t bring up pause and other keys as easily as the iPad. I may be old fashioned, but I prefer the home button on the iPad Air always available and not swiping to access it. For less than half the cost of an equivalent iPad, I can live with these differences. The Samsung screen has a slightly higher resolution than the iPad Air, but that is such a minor difference, I doubt most people could see a difference. I certainly cannot. The small bezel is nice. The S5e is about the same size as my iPad Air but with a larger viewing screen. The Samsung face recognition doesn’t work in darker environments. My Surface Go never seems to have a problem with face recognition even in a dark room. The Samsung never recognizes me when lighting is lower at night. Even in a well-lit room, it can be hit or miss. I do like the instant on when I open the cover. My older iPad Air doesn’t have that feature. The biggest issue I have had with the Samsung S5e is with my 360 camera playback app. I don’t know if it’s true of other brands (I have an Insta360 One X), but the video playback is totally unacceptable. The video jumps around like it is missing frames. The Insta360 app has the frame sequence showing at the bottom so you can see what is playing in the app. It appears that some frames are missing (black or blank) that the video shows as it’s playing. Of course, the sound is skipping too. The 360 pictures are fine and I can scroll around smoothly, but the videos are useless. My iPhone 7 doesn’t have this issue nor does my old iPad Air. A guess would be it has something to do with the processor not being able to handle the data, but who knows? Online, I have read that Android isn’t as efficient as IOS and APP developers care more about IOS than Android, so that may be an issue as well. I don’t take a lot of 360 videos, but it would be nice to have it available when I want it. Passing under the Sydney Harbor Bridge on a cruise ship was one instance where I want it but cannot show it on the Samsung S5e. One of the reasons I wanted more memory was for 360 videos/pictures. They require a lot of memory. The tablet is an item I only use once in a while. For my phone, I will stick with iPhone when I do an upgrade in the future. The Samsung just didn’t impress me to switch for something I consider more critical for my day to day use like my phone. Minor irritations, screen not as responsive to touch, become issues to me when I use it a lot. For a tablet I can live with these short comings. With a phone, not so much so. Bottom line, would I buy it again? Yes. The user expandable memory and larger screen make it well worth the upgrade. I would have gotten an iPad if the price was compatible with the Samsung feature for feature, but with the serious memory limitation and the nearly doubling (iPad Air) or tripling (iPad Pro) of the price, I am comfortable with the Samsung S5e. But for overall quality and feature set, I still prefer the Apple product.
SAMSUNG Galaxy Tab S5e 10.5" 128GB Tablet, Black - SM-T720NZKLXAR. That is the product title of what I ordered. What I got was 64GB. Nothing anyway in the ad indicated it wasn't new. I got a tablet out of box, rattling about in the package with a bit if crumpled paper, and no manual.
