Galaxy Watch 5 pro golf edition certainly has the longest battery running time in golf mode than any other Garmin watch I have had, one round of golf consumes about 20% of battery life. I was skeptical about the golf app functionality but it provides more accurate information than the S60 I used to use, as well better brighter and higher resolution (OLED) screen. Includes free greens contour on courses that provides it. (This is a paid subscription on garmin and other golf watches). Satellite acquisition is faster and more accurate than the garmin watches, because it has capability to acquire four satellite positioning systems (GPS, Galileo, Glonass, and Beidou), rather than two for garmin. Best golf/sport watch in a smart watch with phone calls and receive capability. Can't beat it.
Awesome watch, best battery life yet. I am happy with how it keeps track of my steps, and heart beat while active.
Everything I thought it would be. Now if winter would end so I could get on the course and test out the Golf.
so far o love the watch. The longer lasting battery is great. I can't wait to use the golf app in the spring.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great overall watch. Battery life is way better than my gear S3. Golf features work great. Looks really good too.
Overall, I'm very pleased with the watch. I've had it about 5 weeks and I traded in a watch 4. Originally going to get the classic 6. However, reviews were not happy with the battery life, so I looked at the Pro 5 golf edition. The battery is huge and I love it. When I have gone golfing, I would have to switch out my watch 4 for a Garmin golf gps watch. It was showing it's age in the battery so when I saw the pro 5 golf edition, I thought it would be perfect. I am very pleased with the battery life. If I play a round of golf, the battery lasts about 3 days. Without golf, I can go 4 days between charging. A round of golf consumes about 25% of the battery. The software for golf takes some getting used to and it can be glitchy. For instance, it doesn't always register a shot. One par 5 I played, the first 3 shots didn't register. You also, at the turn, have to be vigilant that the watch is recording the inward 9. The app on the phone is really good. It shows an overhead shot of the hole and then where each of your shots landed. Once I get fully used to the watch golf app, I'll really like it. All other functions of the watch are in line with the previous watch. Overall, I highly recommend the watch.
Its 4 stars due to disappointment on packaging. Otherwise its will be 5 stars.
I had watch 5 but the sleep tracking had 2 hr gaps. Tried everything on web sites with mo success. Called Samsung and they said I could have it sent in or they have some specials on watch 6. Wanted watch 6 pro (golf edition) but not available. But could give me deal on watch 5 pro and I decided to do it. As for watch 5 pro it doesn't track sleep either...get 1 and 2 hr gaps which result in bad sleep score. Samsung has serious problem with sleep tracking. If you have a fix please let me know.
This review covers the Golf Edition. The watch is very good at several things (phone integration, pulse ox, ECG, etc.) but has some unimportant and some important limitations. Unimportant: There's no way to suppress the leading zero in digital watch faces: "6:00pm" instead of "06:00pm"; It doesn't always locate the GPS signal before starting an outdoor activity (although the countdown might lead you to think it does); Important: The Smart Caddie app doesn't seem to be able to accommodate tee boxes with more than one position - longer or shorter for people of different abilities. It should be able to sense where the ball is hit without the golfer marking the position on the watch. But what makes it unusable is the inability to distinguish between several courses at the same location. Many clubs have more than one golf course at the same location. It seems to start out on one course and switch to another during the round. This makes it unusable, for me at least.
Extremely bulky, uncomfortable to sleep with it on. burned my wrist from wearing it. Great battery life
