Samsung HW-Q800A 3.1.2ch Soundbar with Dolby Atmos & DTS:X

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was blown away when I turned on this soundbar. I was not expecting such a power from this unit. Deep bass, clear highs and very loud! Perfect for music. The sounds are so clear that is also great for movies and gaming. Love the led display - you can clearly see the source, sound mode, volume and woofer level. Yes it has separate controls for the volume and the subwoofer - very nice feature if you want to put turn down the bass a little bit so that your house/walls don't rumble. The subwoofer is really powerful so you will need that option. Easy to connect with my samsung tv - using hdmi arc you can control the soundbar with your tv remote, but will miss some controls that come with the soundbar remote. Really easy to set up - I just put it to power and it automatically connected with the subwoofer and worked right away! Pairs with your phone right away using bluetooth. The brackets for wall mounting came in handy - I was able to DIY them to old soundbar mount (see pics). Overall very satsfied and definitely would recommend!.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently purchased a new TV (the Samsung Frame, 65"), and my old soundbar no longer fit on the mantle. Since then, I've been eager to find a slim soundbar with good quality sound. The A650 3.1ch soundbar with Dolby 5.1 fits that bill nicely. What attracted me to the soundbar was the claim that it had a dedicated channel speaker for dialogue clarity. My old soundbar let the music or sound effects overwhelm the voices, and I hated having to turn up the volume just to try to hear the voices. I'm pleased to report that voice clarity is really great. It doesn't make the voices sound separate from the background, but lets them shine through and not be overwhelmed by the music or sound effects. I also have been really enjoying the DTS Virtual:X program, which makes it sound like there are more speakers and feels immersive. The bass is good, and adjustable ( I find that 3 or 4 out of the 6 levels is more than enough). I want to use the optical cable, which is recommended, but the cable that came included was too short to reach my TV box, so I am currently using it linked via bluetooth, and find no lag.

i received the new hw-q800a soundbar that i preordered 3 days after receiving my new 75 inch qn90a qled tv that i preordered as well. the sound system on the qn90a is the best i ever experienced with a built in speaker system. i was totally impressed. i ordered the hw-q800a soundbar and sub-woofer, after reading professional reviews that were all very favorable. after installing the soundbar i was again amazed. the sound bar on its own wiith dolby atmos is amazing for such a small foot print. when i use the q symphony feature (soundbar and tv together) it just blew me away. it takes the experience to a different a totally immersive experience. it's almost like being in the movie. if you have a new qled tv i highly recommend this soundbar particularly using the tv and soundbar together.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I paired my A650 with my Samsung TV. Connecting it was seamless. So seamless in fact that I wasn't sure it was connected. A bonus was the fact that this came with an optical cable so this literally was plug and play. As soon as you plugged it in the TV began setup automatically. In a minute it was done and connected to the TV remote. The speakers now come on whenever the TV does. The subwoofer is subtle. I didn't think it was connected until I tested it with a sound test video from YouTube. The bass envelopes you with sound you can feel. It is awesome! The soundbar is clear and crisp. I'm still trying to figure out the best setting but so far the standard setting seems to fit best. I love the tap and play feature. I have a galaxy phone and it works seamless with the speakers. Music from there rivals a high end sound system. I'm definitely very impressed with this system and would recommend it for any TV room setup.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The clarity of dialogue with this soundbar is perfect, Coming from my 5.1 surround sound that had speakers behind me I was nervous to make the jump to the virtual surround sound! But I was pleasantly surprised by DTS Virtual X and it's capabilities. It's quite clever how the technology works and uses the ceiling to bounce sounds to your rear! I must admit while it does a great job it doesn't fully emerse myself into the movie like before! But what's great is Samsung already knew there would be people like myself and offer rear wireless speakers as an option so that's something to look into! But overall this is a great soundbar as it comes! It has far better audio clarity than my previous soundbar and I'll take that over the full surround! For the retail price, this is a great stepping stone before making a leap towards a full 5.1 Dolby Atmos system which is typically more expensive The soundbar itself feature HDMI Arc technology which is quickly becoming an industry standard, with this it means you can connect to a compatible TV's Arc and you can then use your TV remote to control the volume regardless of brand. The subwoofer is wireless meaning you can place it anywhere in your room without running audio cables under the carpet or around the wall like the old days. The sub has a respectable punch but it won't blow you away literally, which can be a good thing or bad thing depending on your preference

I wouldn't call myself one but I definitely noticed the difference when be changed it out for this Samsung a650 from his Vizio sound bar! One of my fav things is that it doesn't have the rear speakers, those always seemed to get in the way when I try to arrange the room! Even without those speakers I still noticed a jump in the audio quality! I now justify the upgrade! We used it for music via Bluetooth and movies with HDMI arc, all which sounded amazing!! We'll mostly be using it for movies though, we definitely enjoy those

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] i am surprised with the immense output from this soundbar with the multiple drivers working in concert together producing clear atmos audio. main reason for purchasing this combo was the samsung q symphony feature which integrates the output from the sound bar and tv speakers simultaneously. there is a noticeable difference in sound immersion with this feature turned on. setup straightforward with the included hdmi cable and mounting brackets. i also purchased the swa-9500s - wireless rear speaker kit w/ dolby atmos/dts:x to add wireless surround sound

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am extremely impressed with this sound bar, after a seamless and quick set up in my my living room has been been transformed into a home theater. The sound is clear and crisp while watching movies or playing video games. The subwoofer is excellent and wireless so was able to install behind the couch in order to get the best possible experience. The middle speaker really makes a diffrent in the sou d quality compared to other sound bars I had in the past. Set up was quick and easy connected using HDMI to my TV. Also connected to it with my phone via Bluetooth.

Once I hooked it up which was super easy boy was a surprised at the sound that came out. Between Movies and Sports and gaming the sound is amazing that comes out. The addition of the sub adds the perfect bass to anything you are watching and having the remote to be able to adjust anything is a super bonus. I recommend this to anyone looking for that extra pop of theater quality sound in any room. Also this soundbar comes with a great sounding subwoofer and the ability to mount on the wall which I'm definitely gonna do to clean up the wires in the pic. I highly recommend this soundbar for anyone looking for a soundbar for any room.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I just received my HW-Q800A 3.1.2ch Soundbar with Dolby Atmos/DTS:X. It was packaged well and easy to set up. The wireless subwoofer connected seamlessly and I connected the soundbar using HDMI-Arc. I am really pleased with the sound of it. The subwoofer sounds really good when watching movies. The subwoofer is a bit tall and unable to lay on it's side so it doesn't fit where I need it to so it sits out in the open off to the side. While it was really easy to connect to my Alexa, and works well with it for the most part - it does have trouble hearing me over the sound of the speaker - I would have expected the remote to have a microphone on it. It also has an issue with it dropping the sound when listening to music thru Alexa - just a random second or so of silence then it picks right back up again. It's a bit annoying but doesn't happen all that often. I also think the remote is/looks cheap for the quality of the soundbar. My Samsung TV remote is gorgeous, metal, with a microphone - the soundbar remote is black plastic, curved oddly, and extremely basic.
