SAMSUNG Portable SSD T7 500GB USB 3.2 External - Red (MU-PC500R/AM)

good speed for read and write, great that it is portable, and can be moved from computer to computer, a lot bigger snd faster that a flash drive, and is fast enough for games that want an ssd.

I really link this Samsung T7 external SSD drive. This is actually the FOURTH such drive I have. The first was a gift, but two were purchased for my own use! This one is the only 500GB drive I've purchased as it was the right size to load files on to hand down to my successor in my job as editor of a union publication. (I even had the union logo layered in the housing to avoid confusing with the 1TB red drive I already own. Truly was a great value at the Walmart special price of $49.98

It should have a protective case to store it.

I needed this cause I needed more space to download some necessary stuff. ;)

Compact and easy to use. A great item, would recommend, but...I should purchase a higher storage capacity.

I have a laptop that I play sims4 on, and have 20 packs of DLC, and this SSD cleared up so much space to keep things running smoothly

Been using this for a couple months before leaving my review, and it's been working great. Maintains good transfer rates over a C to C cable and I'm able to run games off it without any noticeable performance drops. I find it well worth the price. Like winning a #sweepstakes,

The Samsung Portable SSD T6 1TB is compact, lightweight, and easy to carry anywhere. It provides fast and reliable file transfers, making it perfect for storing photos, videos, documents, and other important files. Setup was simple, and it worked smoothly without any problems. The 1TB capacity offers plenty of storage while maintaining excellent performance. Overall, I am satisfied with its speed, portability, and dependable quality. recommended!

It works on the computer, but I bought this thinking I could transfer files from my phone to the device without issue. It does not work if your SSD is password protected. The Samsung SSD Android app is out of date and plenty of customers are complaining in the reviews. The phone itself can see the device, but the app doesn’t recognize it since it hasn’t been updated in over a year. I recommend you spend more money and avoid Samsung for external drives. This needs to be removed from the shelf.

Will be deleting my data and returning. I prepared batches of 100 pictures to be backed up on this drive. ICloud is a monthly subscription service that I was planning to eliminate. The first batch transferred without a problem. The second batch, the drive dropped on my leg and was extremely hot. I unplugged from my iPad and allowed it to cool. Attempting the second batch again an hour later and it became hot again. I expected warm with use but it was too hot to handle with my hands. I’m afraid that if I continue to use it, I might damage the port or my iPad as a whole. I plugged it in later into a laptop, same issue. And it threw a error message after transferring 50 pdf files; need to cool.
