Much improved over my previous tv(Samsung 6800) which was nearly 9 years old and suffered from an obsolete web browser and lack of updates. The sound on this new model is in a different league once you have been through the menus. Likewise, the picture, especially on HD channels is really good but you need to do a fair bit of setting up to get it how you like it. All the pre set picture modes are way too bright and seem to be set for overcoming a very bright room. My viewing is done entirely in an evening so the settings have been tweaked to suit. If I had one gripe it would be the remote. There are two and one is solar powered, which is great but being a man,I find them both fiddly and small. My old TV had a much bigger item, which for me,was easier to use. Anyway, one small gripe isn't going to detract from a very good tv.
We got this tv to replace an older 32" samsung that my kids were using for the xbox. We decided to buy this tv in the black friday sales and set it up as our main household tv with Sky TV and the xbox plugged into it so that we can take advantage of the 4k package we have been paying for.
TV very well packaged and arrived safely. Easy to wall mount and looks great. Excellent picture quality. Packed with features (not had chance to sort them all) and Samsung support good on how to use the features. On line manual useful.
Ex value for money not quite as sharp as Oled but not a lot of difference considering how more expensive the oled is and a bonus you don't get screen burn with this model.
First of all it's a Samsung which I ie what I tend to go for because of its build quality performance perfect sound and picture quality are second to none. I wouldn't have any other make
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After spending some time with the Samsung QN85D, I can say it's a well-balanced and thoughtfully designed TV. Samsung's 2024 Neo QLED lineup continues to deliver strong performance, and this model sits in a sweet spot between premium features and practical value. The design is sleek and modern, with slim bezels and a sturdy, minimalist stand. It blends well in almost any living room setup, and the overall build feels premium. Picture quality is definitely a highlight. The mini-LED backlighting brings impressive brightness and contrast, even in daytime viewing. Colors are vivid but not overly saturated, and blacks are deep without losing detail in shadows. Whether you're watching movies, sports, or gaming, the visuals are sharp and engaging. Samsung's Tizen OS runs smoothly and is easy to navigate. All the major streaming apps are available, and the setup process is straightforward—even for less tech-savvy users. The remote is simple and minimal, which some may appreciate, though others might miss dedicated buttons. For audio, the built-in speakers are decent. Samsung's Object Tracking Sound adds some spatial feel, but if you care about rich, cinematic sound, pairing it with a soundbar will elevate the experience. Gamers will be happy to know the QN85D supports 120Hz refresh rate, low input lag, and VRR (Variable Refresh Rate). It performs very well with next-gen consoles, and Samsung's Game Bar makes it easy to tweak settings on the fly. If there's anything to point out
Excellent television watched over 2 box sets in the 2 weeks I've had it.
Tv is bigger and better and much more to offer would recommend for people looking for a tv to do other stuff
Upgraded from a 55Q80T and I'm really disappointed. It's slightly brighter and the colours are a bit more vivid but the motion plus is a juddery mess. The Q80T has MUCH better judder reduction in fast panning scenes. The pixel response time is vastly better than the 75Q80D (which I returned) but still not as good as the Q80T. The black bars above and below the image are better than the Q80D but not as good as the Q80T. It seems like the QN85D has a haze across the screen. This is all tested on multiple content types including HDS10+ in 4K. The image is great on still shots but as soon as there is motion it falls apart. I would take motion artefacts over judder any day of the week. Seems like the quality of Samsung TVs has considerably degraded over the last 5 years. The TCLC805 is considerably brighter. I would return it if it wasn't for the inconvenience caused by it's considerable size. Other than the average pixel response time it is actually quite good for gaming on a PC at 120hz 4k but does suffer with a strange flickering now and again, although this is not really noticeable during gaming, just in the menus. The motion plus could be fixed via a software update but I doubt this will happen. Max judder reduction should reduce judder!
The item arrived damaged! We are unable to return to Walmart. We have to go through the company that sent the product. (Third Party). The company will not take the return or refund the item.
