I Received the package 5 days early. The product was well packaged, and it wasn't damaged when I got it. I am looking forward to using this SSD on a computer that's being delivered here. Five stars; would recommend to all users on the Walmart platform.
I used this to replace an older hard drive in my 3 1/2 year old notebook. It was easy to install and get up and running. Performance wise, it was extremely fast. The computer's boot up time was reduced significantly and I was up and surfing the internet in no time.
Added this drive to my PC over the weekend. I swapped it out for an old 7200rpm drive. Once setup, it's blazing fast. Win10 boots up super quick. Note that it's a 2.5" drive, so you may need brackets or a mount to convert it to 3.5" or 5.25" if you're putting it in your Desktop.
This is not the best sad out, but it really added pep to my macbook's performance all around including boot time, launching programs, and increased space for a great price. I would totally buy it again.
[Employee of walmartcanada] Works great Easy to set up and install
I upgraded my 7200 rpm hard drive 17 year old computer to one of these. it was like buying a new computer as a matter of fact it is faster than new computers because I run Linux. I recommend it if you have old hard drive. My computer turns on fast. apps open faster. and turns off fast. it made my internet and video frame rate faster and more stable because they don't wait on hard drive.
with current prices for all solid state memory very high and predicted to keep rising for the future this SSD is a bargain. It may not be the fastest, most reliable or even have a worthwhile warranty but for the sale price you can't go wrong. For a console where you can always re-download your games this just makes sense. I hope to get another for my other console.
It is NOT an external SSD as advertised! I found a use for rather than go through hassle of returning it. Its an internal (inside the case of the PC) product. Amazon does not get it wrong. A very black mark to Wakmart.
Performance of this drive is way, WAY below other SSDs in the price range. Don't get me wrong, at home we have several Sandisk SSDs - an old Ultra II, an Extreme Pro, and an X400, and they are fine. The problem with this SSD Plus model is that its Write speed is about 66% SLOWER than other competing drives. When you tell your computer to "Save" a file or folder, install a program or a game, or to copy a video, or music, or photos the SSD "Writes" the data onto the drive. That process should be pretty fast with an SSD. Unfortunately, with this model the larger the amount of data you want to Save, the slower this SSD writes! Instead, consider spending just a few dollars more and get something like the Crucial MX300 which is many times faster and has a great track record for reliability. It's true that if you use one of these to replace an old, slow regular laptop hard drive it will speed up your computer, but it's nowhere near as good as many other models at a similar price. Sandisk has a pretty good reputation for reliability, but that's about all that the SSD Plus model has going for it.
I rate this as poor ONLY because it is an INTERNAL drive advertised as an EXTERNAL drive. And I wasted my time going to the back of the store for pickup just have to go to the front of the store to return it. Get your act together Walmart.
