Sandisk has been my favorite brand of flash drives since I was buying Cruzer blade 8GB %26 16GB ones between 2010 and 2012.Then I started heavily buying the 32GB %26 by 2014, 64GB ones(all of which I still have also). But my favorite ones are the 3.2 256GB,512GB %26 1TB ones that I started purchasing in 2021-23.But they cost too much right now so I'm back to buying 64GB ones for linux installations.
This thing is FAST! I do daily backups of my files folders via a wonderful free/shareware app called FreeFileSync which scans for recently altered files and updates their copies on whatever drive you specify - just like you'd do manually but incalculably faster. So I specify to update from my (C) to my flashdrive, and I was hoping this little SanDisk would be as fast as my older Kootian (I don't know who actually makes that brand), and on small tasks it's actually about 5x faster. Of course it's plug-n-play. Take it out of the package and pop it in your USB port and copy stuff to it. Flashdrives are the coolest thing. I only gave 4 stars for Ease of Use because sliding the connector out from inside the cover (so that it looks like the pic here) can be a bit stiff and the button/handle is slightly recessed and hard to reach. That's a trivial thing, but still mildly annoying. NOW LET'S GO META: this 'review it immediately' process at Walmart doesn't account for using the product long enough for any issues to arise. I often get prompted to review things whose packaging I haven't even opened yet. Geez. Slow down a bit. Give us an option to get a reminder to review a non-food item after we've had it for 6 months.
It came with a SanDisk software application that I did not install, and it works fine for the purpose I use it for. It's only about 2.5 inches retracted and has a hole for lanyards/key ring hoops; it doesn't sit as awkwardly as I thought it would, but it does get a bit scratched pulling it on and off the hoop because of the design.
Comes easily and works fine in the computer when you plug it in. And they do leave it outside of your door not in lobbies or somewhere where someone could steal them.
I purchased this from Walmart.com because it was cheaper than Amazon and the shipping was faster. Good job Walmart with your competitive prices. I will definitely buy again.
Very reasonable price for a good USB 3.0 Flash Drive. I've had very good results using these high storage SanDisk flash drives. They used to be much more expensive.
This is the First time I ever used a USB Flash Drive, I was scared but my Grand-daughter guided me thru the process, It is alot easier than a portable hard drive disk player, I plan to purchase more in the future , I keep my photos in this Flash drive as back-up in case my Lap top should crash or break down , needless to say this item is a relief of worry of losing my photos , Thank You
I love the Sandisk products. I have never had a failure with one of their products and I have been around a long time.
i like it for what I do the USB connector retracts so that it is protected without having a separate cap to get lost or miss placed and it has a loop on the end so I can put a lanyard on it or connect to a keyring.
Horrible USB drive. Bought this to use the secure "Private Vault" software and it doesn't work properly. It is also being discontinued by Sandisk in Oct of 2025.
