this radio has a lot of features .it feels tough not cheap plastic comes with accessories for a portable radio, its gets great reception on all around radio stations I am giving 5 stars because its excellent quality and built to last but I haven't been able to get any Noah radio stations,
This radio replaces a Sangean radio that I used and abused for many years. Three great features: station presets, push button volume control, and usb power supply.
Wanted something to listen to while I was walking the dog, hour to an hour and a half a day and didn't want something that only required headphones. Perfect fit for what I was looking for.
This is a great high fidelity radio , I love it !
Another winner from Sangean. Great reception, great build quality as always.
Great little radio. The RDS is great! I love the bass boost the most. I use the radio at the gym and for yard work. be careful with the battery door on the back when you try and open it for the first time. you can break the little door arms if not careful. I use rechargable batteries. make sure you read the instructions and slide the switch in the battery compartment to rechargable battery. The presets are easy like a newer car stereo. Just hold the button until it beeps and the station is set. The manual does not describe it this easy. The manual is actually trying to explain how to go beyond the 5 presets to another group of presets in another window. Read the instructions carefully. If 5 presets are enough then dont worry about it. The storm alert actually worked while I was mowing and let me know to head in because lightning was in the forecast. AM receives distant stations almost as well as my Sangean MMR-88.
This replaces a C. Crane pocket radio that lasted only 17 mos. and was not worth the repair cost. This Sangean will charge NiMH batteries with the AC adapter. The C.Crane will not. The lock switch prevents unintentionally turning off the radio on the Sangean as well as locking other functions while listening. The Sangean could use a wider, (2 inch) and more robust belt clip. The programming instructions require some detailed reading, but then, I'm no Tech Wiz. A previous small Sangean radio lasted 20 years!
So far I like it, but apprehensive about reviews saying the earphone jack has been changed to plastic and is easy to break. Trying to be careful with it. Would much rather items be stocked in store than ordered online.
Does poor job filtering out noise for all but local, strong stations. Improving DX Sensitivity and boosting signal above the noise background would, in my opinion, make this the best pocket radio made in 40 years. Both Indoors and out of doors my 40 year old Panasonic R-1007 is more sensitive and provides a signal that is not buried in the background noise. I use my DT-800 to digitally find Stations for my R-1007, and for alarm clock, clock, sleep timer, and for fast tune station memories.
You can barely hear the radio speaker and the headset is moderate but the price was about were I was looking at
