Sangean Portable AM/FM Radios, Black, PR-D5BK

I bought this radio to play in my vehicle i drive all day. I needed to buy an adapter to be able to plug into the aux port in the vehicle( Radio shack $20.00) reception and sound is great. I keep the batt. in the unit to keep the preset stations set and it looks like as soon as you plug in the adapter the batt symbol turns of showing the batt are not in use. Great....

I did a lot of research on finding a nice table top radio that would plug in and also have the option of batteries for the occasional power outage. I am very pleased with model I have chosen! I have my top 4 stations set using the pre-set buttons and I can go back and forth among them by pressing one button. I like the lighted display. It is of a good size and it will show the station ID that is playing or by pressing the display button it will display the current time. I like the size of the radio. With the 2 speakers, it can put out a lot of sound!

I purchased this mainly for its black color since I have several Sangean radios in white. I was amazed at the sound quality. It doesn't have any type of tone control but doesn't need it. The stereo separation is pretty good despite its small size. If your looking for a digital solidly built radio with great audio, this is the one you want. Highly recommended!

I looked all over trying to find a small radio with good reception and preset buttons. I love this one! Just what I was looking for. Picks up all my AM stations and even has a aux outlet for my Iphone. I was not happy with the shipping however. The box was busted and not packaged well at all. So glad it made it in one piece.

I love this small portable radio! THE SOUND IS GREAT! It has "Auto Seek" just like my car radio, which makes finding available stations so easy to locate & set to memory.... The 10 memory Presets are so easy to set & to use. I was looking for a radio that had a Remote, but I settled for this radio instead - it's actually EASIER to set the stations than with a remote. I ALSO wasn't sure about it's SIZE! In the product description it had 17.0 x 8.0 x 4.0 inches - that's a Boom-box size, which I didn't really want. I can see why someone had asked if it had a "Handle"? I looked at the SPEAKER size (duel 2.5") and knew something was wrong with the measurments that were given. Guess what? When it arrived, those sizes that were given were the BOX size NOT the actual radio size.lol The radio is ONLY 10.5 x 5.0x 2.75 and gives out beautiful sounds normally only found on much larger radios. I AM THRILLED WITH THIS PURCHASE - IT FILLS MY NEED PERFECTLY! Oh yea! The LCD screen is big & easy to read.... Love it!

Very happy with the PR-D5 radio. This radio is not cheap, but it is also not cheaply made. Actually, it exceeded my expectations. Easy to set up, sound quality is full and excellent for a radio of this size; fit and finish is very good. Ability to pull in farther away AM stations is very good for an internal antenna. FM sound fidelity is crisp and full. The display (on FM) showing the current song or show or station is neat. If you like playing with knobs and buttons and bells and whistles, then you might want to spend more money. If you just want a very good "basic AM/FM radio" this one is would be hard to beat. I would definitely buy it again knowing what I know now.

I purchased this radio for my mother who listens to AM every day . Although it doesn't pull in all stations it does pull in a station of a greater distance than the others . Just for the record I returned a Tivoli because I could only receive one station and that station has an antenna less than one mile away . The push button settings are great for people with sore joints .

Excellent sound am and fm. I put the batteries in first and all worked great. Now I have it plugged in the a.c. on my dresser. The clock is easy to read from my bed. Easy to carry around even though it has no handle. It is well made and solid. Everything is wow and I have only had it for 2 days. I also purchased the 2 year warranty for $9.00 because I wanted the extra protection on something this beautiful. I really haven't found anything I don't like about it, so if your thinking of buying one I say...you won't be sorry. Thanks for reading. ENJOY.

I wanted something for the garage & this really fit the bill. It's small, the digital tuner works wonderfully, station pre-set buttons are easy to program & sound quality is fine for such a small set. The only problem is my wife has decided she likes it, too, so I'll likely get a second one for her, this time in white (it's exactly the same radio, but a few $$$ more for the white one).

They play games when you need to stop the shipment. Delay then send anyway! When needing to return they just send you in circles ! Beware! WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!
