I began eating this bread in 2014 because I had 3 diverticulitis attack in 3years. After researching diverticulitis the fact that people in countries that eat a higher amount of fiber don’t have diverticulitis so I read food labels and saw that this bread had a lot more fiber than the bread I had been eating. After eating only this bread -no other bread- I haven’t had an attack in 12 years. I like the bread and it stays fresh for a week so I get to use the whole loaf without any mold so it was a win-win situation. I do wish it would you would not run out of it so often but HEB is always stocked well.
This is great bread, I hope they do not stop making it. It's the lowest net carb bread I've been able to find. Pay attention to the nutritional facts where they call a serving 2 slices and most other breads say 1 slice is a serving. This version (wheat) is firmer than the honey flavor and seems to have slightly thicker slices.
I get the white bread %26 switched from the English muffin bread that hd 80 cal a slice n this is 45 calories and is great toasted so I've eaten 2 slices for 2 - 3 meals a day and lost around 80lbs in about a yr now and didn't change much else . I still use peanut butter and make french toast with it. It taste great %26 if I keep eating it i shouldn't gain back the pounds. All the diets say cut bread 1st thing %26 I can't stick to that. Bread goes with everything except maybe pizza.
This is thinner than regular bread but it's still really good. After awhile you notice how thick regular bread is and for me I prefer this now. My favorite way to eat this bread is toasted with some olive oil mayo, shredded lettuce, tomatoes and a mix of turkey and ham and a slice of pepper jack cheese.
I have been eating this brand and type of bread for some time, I personally like it. I just wish it was not as expensive as it is. I think more people would buy it if if were less expensive. Try putting it on sale once in a while and give people a chance to try it.
We like this brand, but often prefer the white bread as opposed to multi-grain. For the calories, you can't go wrong. I will say that I primarily use this to make grilled cheese and PB%26J and for the grilled cheese, the slices don't brown as evenly as a regular loaf, but it's minor.
This bread is inconsistent. The shape of the loaf, thickness of the slices, and oat toppings are different every time. For something mass produced, it should be more consistent. The last loaf i bought was so misshappen that it is difficult to make sandwiches for my daughters lunch.
I have been buying this bread for many years and haven't minded the premium pricing because of the health benefits of it being low carb. The past 3 loaves I've bought have been dry at the end/bottom of the loaf right when I bring it home from the store (the back end doesn't 'squish' (lol) like the front end does). I don't know if this is a problem on Sara Lee's side or if it's staying longer on Walmart's shelves due to premium pricing. I'm still going to buy it, just letting others know in case they want to watch for it.
Save your money and buy the Walmart brand! The Walmart bread taste great and gives you a full slice of bread. I bought the Sara Lee brand this time because we had company coming. The bread didn't look like it was smashed but the bread had very small pieces of bread? I forgot to take pictures.
I have purchased Sara Lee Delightful Multi-Grain 45 Calories Bread for years, but this is the second loaf of Sara Lee bread I have purchased in my last few grocery orders from the same Walmart store (Broadway Walmart in Tyler, Texas) that has been SMELLY and MOLDED. I had to throw away both loaves which are much too expensive to have to toss away despite both loaves being within the sell-by-dates.
