More of a roll than a bagel
This is basically just a white roll with a hole in it. A bagel should have some chew to it, and this has none.

Small but mighty Sara's Plain Bagel Slays
Sara Lee makes a consistently reliable plain bagel. This is easier said than done, considering the dough does the heavy lifting without benefit of sesame or poppy seeds, onions, pumpernickel, cinnamon, raisins and other common bagel embellishments. The Sara Lee plain bagel is elegant in its simplicity, with a tinge of sweetness to the dough and a chewing experience that hits midrange: not too hard but also neither soggy nor unchallenging. If one must find a negative, it's the size, smaller than almost any other bagel product I can name. However, this portion size is nothing to complain about, in my view. You can have a second bagel if it wasn't enough or you can appreciate its efficiency if you're a fan of just enough. It's pretty perfect as is. I toast it and add butter. I eat these for breakfast, for a snack mid-day, and even at midnight. It's a 24/7 menu item!
