My family has been eating Sara Lee cakes since I was a kid. Considering my mom was a baker and professional cake decorator that’s saying something. They taste great and it’s consistently great. I love the pound cake alone or with my tea, but my favorite way to have it is under my mashed up berries. Just take a pint of strawberries and slice them or mash them up with a wooden spoon and add some sugar to ur taste and let it sit in the fridge a bit so the juices get thicker and yummy then pour that over ur pound cake and top It with Reddi whip whipping cream or cool whip. I’m not a cool whip girl, but I know some ppl are. You can even drizzle chocolate syrup, caramel syrup, or berry syrups over the top or even done chopped nuts. It’s delicious! There’s no bad way to enjoy this. You can also make a simple glaze with powdered sugar and a little milk or water and a dash of vanilla or almond flavoring and a dash of lemon juice or lime juice or orange juice or whatever you like. You can even poke holes in the cake and pie the glaze inside of it too to make a nice coffee cake and then sprinkle some berries or chocolate chips over it. Something so simple can be made so special. You just can’t go wrong with Sara Lee.
I Love Defrosting Sara Lee's Pound Cake For The Minimum Amount Of Time Mentioned On The Package %26 Putting In With Into A Bowl, In The Middle Of A Small, Medium or Large Sized Plate, Paper Bowl or Paper Plate %26 Putting Dreyer's Brand Strawberry Ice Cream On Top. It Makes A Better Tasting Strawberry Shortcake Dessert.
This pound cake has a very good flavor. It goes great with strawberries and whipped cream. I slice what I need and microwave it just a few seconds to take the chill off. Then cover it with strawberries or what I have to top it with. The rest goes back in the freezer. If I were going to serve all of it I would just let it come to room temperature. I think it has better flavor than the others I have found.
My mom was a great cook, but she kept this pound cake as a staple. She could make fabulous cakes or desserts of any kind. She kept this Sara Lee Pound Cake for strawberry or peach shortcake. She would cut a slice to place under ice cream and topping for a scrumptious sundae. Buttery, moist, with a consistency for fruit or ice cream. Top with cinnamon and sugar toasted for the best cinnamon toast dessert ever. The grandkids thought she could whip up a magical dessert in minutes! My mom and Sara Lee had a special secret!
Sara Lee Pound Cake is always delicious. It slices perfectly, even in the container. The texture is the same all through it. You can use it for the base of various desserts or just slice it and eat it. It is very buttery, giving it a rich taste. The classic pound cake is suitable for any occasion. If you have never experienced it, you have missed a real treat. Put it on your grocery list right away. It will be a surprise treat for you entire family.
Sara Lee pound cake is absolutely delicious! The texture is hearty and moist (once completely defrosted) with just the right amount of buttery sweetness. It pairs perfectly ice cream and whipped cream. I love that it's convenient and consistently high quality—definitely a treat I'll keep.
This is my first time ever tasting Sarah Lee and my grandfather. He's deceased now he retired from Sarah Lee ages and ages ago and I actually tasted everything besides the POUND CAKE and actually I really love it. I will be trying different recipes with it.
Exactly how I remember it. Big, fresh, smells and tastes the same as you remember it. I added cool whip and fresh blueberries. The box shows it sprinkled with powdered sugar. I don't like having to crimp and uncrimp the foil closure. It hurts, but I want it to stay fresh.
The cake was too dry it didn't taste good tasted more like saw dust and a cake so I want be ordering that anymore and I sure wouldn't recommend it to anybody cuz it be just as disappointed as I was the strawberries that fixed up to go on didn't it made strawberries taste bad then. So I just bake a pound cake on my own and use it
Sadly the cake just doesn’t taste as it did when I was child and into my mid-40s. Don’t recall having bought one since then—in my 60s now—so I was excited to buy one and share it with my Son. The cake had an odd chemical aftertaste and it wasn’t nearly as moist as I recall. Overall…it really wasn’t good. Even my Son—not having anything to have compared it to—wasn’t at all impressed. That surprised me since he’ll pretty much like and eat anything not moving. (It really bothers me that as corporations get bigger richer and greedier they begin to cut costs on the very things that actually grew their businesses in the first place. Just tragic….)
