we tried this when we saw Kraft deluxe American has gotten to be about $8 for 24 slices. Sargento is what we will buy from now on. Its easier to get a slice because small sheets of paper separate each slice, making it easier to take a slice. Sargento is a bit less sweet than Kraft, and it fills up a slice of bread so you get cheese in every bite of a sandwich or burger. Good stuff!
My husband and I both really like this cheese. There's something about regular American cheese slices that seem plasticky, the Sargento Naturals are just that, natural, nothing plasticky about them. This cheese makes a great grilled cheese, and is also great by itself, on a cold cut sandwich, or paired with crackers.
I started buying this recently because it's a healthier alternative to the overprocessed cheese slices that I normally buy. It's good cheese. But the taste profile is a little different from what I'm used to. And it's easier to break off pieces while pulling them off the paper that separates the slices. I think I had gotten used to all the additives in the other heavily processed cheese slices I used to use. And I'm having to get used to this one. It does melt better than other brands. So that's great when I make grilled cheese sandwiches. And it's about 50% more expensive than other brands. But I'm trying to eat healthier and don't mind spending a little extra for better quality foods.
I am so happy to have found this American Cheese. Mainly, it's the clean ingredient list that I'm so pleased with. Over time, brands like Land of Lakes, Kraft, and most others have begun using additives like preservatives and anti-caking agents. The taste and texture of this cheese is very good. I've just gotten it for the first time and have had it with crackers but haven't cooked with it yet. I'm looking forward to an omelette, cheeseburger and grilled cheese.
I feel this cheese is a healthier, more responsibly-sourced item. I was going all the way to Whole Foods for Horizon Organic American Cheese slices, but they have been out of it for weeks now. Thank you for adding Sargento's American Cheese to Walmart Grocery. I will purchase this item on a regular basis!
Th is is the cheese taste I have been searching for! Takes me back to the yummy school day cheese that was put on everything. So glad I finally found it! Tastes just like the cheese blocks my best friend's mom used to get and served at every meal!
I have always been a fan of American cheese, or Cheese product as advertised ! I actually stopped purchasing any form of American Cheese as I have read my reports on process and ingredients in Brands like Kraft singles ! I knew there had to be a Company that actually made a real American Cheese w/real ingredients and a normal process ! I have purchased Sargento products for years but had no knowledge of their making of American cheese ! When I saw an advertisement for Sargento American Cheese I couldn't hardly wait to purchase a package ! Wow ! it is fantastic, the taste, texture, melting capability, incredible to say the least ! I have told numerous family and friends about my discovery and they to are now purchasing this fabulous product !! Thank You Sargento for this and all your other fine products…. E. Bruce Olmstead
seems like a healthier version of an American cheese with decent ingredients which is important to me. great for sandwiches crackers. it does not melt well for macaroni and cheese. I tried to use some of it for that and it became grainy. I believe I did barely melt some off on a burger. that was okay but I don't think okay for in cooked items. nice flavor. probably something I would try again if I get in the mood for American cheese.
Walmart prices are going up so quickly and it's horrible that self senates are becoming more and more. Who what to scan and bag their own stuff. It's just gross that. Phone calls are so bad you get upset just to speak to a person Walmart is corrupting more
What a disappointment. Open package that's to big for the cheese. Paper in-between slices. I think nice touch for a moment. Then I figured out it's because the cheese is sliced very thin so the paper is a must. The package that's to big leads to dry edges even with the paper. Will Never but their products again
