I had to try a new recipe I found on line-grilled French toast, ham, egg and cheese sandwich. I started with 2 slices of sourdough bread, then cracked 1 egg into a plate with raised edge and dredge the bread in it. Next I put 1 tablespoon of Walmart's honey butter in my largest frying pan and fried the French toast. I sat that aside on a plate and started preparing the rest of the sandwich, starting with placing 2 slices of Swiss cheese on each piece of French toast. In the same pan, without adding extra butter, I fried 1 more egg over low heat. Then I cut the egg in half with a pancake turner and placed the egg on top of each slice of French toast. Next I fried thin slices of ham and assembled the sandwich. Finally I cut it in half diagonally. The finished sandwich was made better by the honey butter. It was a big, filling breakfast that I thoroughly enjoyed.
You can really taste the wonderful difference between this aged swiss and the swiss you usually get when you buy swiss cheese. This cheese enhances your sandwich or other recipe you use it in. It, also, is yummy just to eat as a snack, where you can really the savour the flavor. If you like cheese, you'll love this one.
This is a regular on my grocery list. I'm a big fan of Swiss Cheese and even use it for my grilled cheese sandwiches. I like Sargento's aged variety a little better than the regular. I also like the resealable package which keeps the cheese fresh.
This is the best tasting packaged sliced swiss cheese I have tried. The aged swiss is much better than the regular one. It's a stronger tasting swiss. Sargento makes the better tasting cheese in my opinion when shopping this section and this swiss is my favorite. We primarily use it for cold sandwiches, it brings out some flavor to them. For grilled its ok, the cheddar is better. I melt it on chicken breast patties and thats pretty darn good too.
Not quite as strong flavor as I would like, but the mellow flavor and perfectly sized slices go well with stronger-herbed crackers and cherry tomatoes. Makes for a delicious light supper or lunch!
I love this cheese. However, today they did not put it with the rest of my groceries and I did not receive it. But I did talk to customer service and they are going to refund my money. Don't know what happened, but I'm glad that they are making good on it. That says a lot for Walmart. I do online orders all the time and have been very pleased and this cheese is a very good and economical product.
Real Swiss taste, texture and fragrance is exactly what it should be. Not a waxy, weird white square. Melts great, too.
Of course no brand of conveniently uniformed slice cheeses can compete with cheese from a genuine fromagerie sold fresher cheeses, but then prices are higher. My only complaint is how stingy the paper like separators between slices make it difficult to separate tlhe slices. The lengths should be at least half to inch longer. I hate the additional time to use a thin knife or get cheese into my finger nails to separae the slices. Maybe okay for those who eat like nomads, but not for us preferring to neater preparation of home made foods.
This particular package of Swiss Cheese contained only (7) slices vs. what should have been (11) , as noted on the package! Sorting machine needs to be checked and may need to be recalibrated..!
Aged? From when? Sargento to walmart? Zero taste. I keep trying Sargento cheese is never good ! Cheese w no taste how is that possible! Overpriced plastic sold as cut cheese. UGH!
