My favorite grilled cheese recipe: Start with buttered sourdough bread, add one or two slices Sargento's tasty Colby-Jack, then layer three thinner slices of tomato with ten or twelve baby spinach leaves, followed by one or two slices of Sargento's creamy Baby Swiss! Top with second slice of buttered bread and "grill" in a buttered skillet til the cheese is totally melted and bread is browned to your liking. (Add a few onion rings and some black pepper for a little extra-extra😁). Enjoy with a crispy dill pickle!
Sometimes I want both white cheese and orange cheese. This has both in each slice. I made a grilled cheese sandwich with it and added an egg and some bacon. It tasted very good. I have seen grated cheese with both flavors used on tacos and burritos. It gives you extra calcium. It tastes light.
Sargento has a consistently better product than say, Kraft. In a perfect Walmart world, you should be able to get this cheese sliced in the deli… but no. It would behoove Walmart to provide all deli cheeses sliced to the weight you want, instead of buying bags that are already filled with cheese slices sitting in an open fridge - and never getting an even pound of cheese… it's always over the weight, or under. More sliced cheeses, please…
This cheese has a really nice flavor, creamy with just the right balance between Colby and Monterey Jack. The slices are a good thickness and melt well, making them perfect for sandwiches, burgers, or even a quick snack. It tastes fresh and doesn't have that overly processed feel. Overall, a solid go-to cheese that I keep coming back to.
If you're looking for consistently delicious, high-quality cheese, Sargento never disappoints. Every slice and shred tastes fresh, rich, and perfectly balanced. The texture is smooth and creamy, and it melts beautifully—whether you're making grilled cheese, tacos, omelets, or topping off a homemade pizza. I especially love how flavorful their varieties are without being overpowering. The sharp cheddar has a bold, satisfying bite, while the mozzarella melts into that perfect stretchy goodness. You can really taste the difference compared to generic brands. The packaging is also super convenient and keeps everything fresh. It's clear that Sargento focuses on quality ingredients and great taste. Five stars all the way — this is my go-to cheese every time!
You can't go wrong with any Sargento cheeses. My 15 year old Chihuahua loves this cheese and he will sit and stare at me until he gets some. 🐈🐕🦺🐈⬛
I have been using Sargento brand cheese for over 25 years!! I use it for cheese toast, sandwiches and on BLTs. it melts really smooth and you know it's REAL CHEESE!!
First, I trust the Sargento brand. More importantly, I like the taste and it works well for how I use it. It is the brand I look for when buying everyday cheeses. P.S. My dogs like it too - and yes, they have discerning palates. Note to others: they only get a little bit.
I've bought this brand of cheese for years until just recently I had four or five packages where the slices stuck together therefore tearing the cheese slices into causing them unable to be used as a cracker topper for snacks therefore have gone to another brand of cheese
shoppers spend too much or more money than my requested substitute.. sometimes going over one dollar. I am on a fixed income and may not have that extra money at that time, but I personally don't have that problem, but know seniors who do. If my sub is also unavailable, the store should let us know so we still have a choice rather than automatically spending our money.
