Comfortable trail shoe!

Steve Oberdin February 19, 2025

I tried several trail shoes and none of them had the cushion feel that I received from the triumph or ride. The Xodus Ultra 2 did and is so much different than all the other stiff feeling trail shoes I had tried. I had a great experience running my first 50K race in them. I definitely recommend them.

Top Notch Trail Runners

Trail Runner February 7, 2024

I bought this shoe for trail running and I love it! While I enjoy my Peregrine 13's, these are probably going to be my new go to trail runners. The cushioning is amazing, and I feel like I can run forever in these things. There is a little bit of spring back into your foot. The tread is legit and the shoe construction is well thought through. If I had to pick something that I don't like about this shoe it would be the laces. I don't know why they did not stick with their normal laces? These laces seem skinnier and flimsy, perhaps it is to allow them to be stuffed into the pocket on top of the tongue? Overall, very happy with this purchase. Buy these trail runners! You will not regret it.

Comfortable! Cushy but solid!

Quiner October 17, 2023

I've bought Perigrins the last two replacements. I understood this to be a more cushy Perigrin and I totally agree. Even more comfortable! I haven't found my Perigrins to be very durable. I'm hoping for better from the Xodus2.

Great trail running shoe for a larger runner like.

Jeremy July 14, 2023

Great trail runners from the first run. I'm a heavier runner (6'1” 210lbs) and these provided enough cushioning and stability for me to feel great after my 10-15k runs. Love these for trail running!

Enjoying the new Exodus Ultra 2

Ranger Rick June 26, 2023

So far so good. I have about 60 miles on my new Exodus Ultra 2's. I like the fit, no too wide or too thin, just right for my foot shape. Plenty of cushion and grippy tread. I trail run and backpack with them. They are holding up well to the abuse so far. I'll keep my fingers crossed!!

Great shoe

francois9N May 30, 2023

I have just bought the Peregrine 13 and i already have the Xodus Ultra, so now i have the new Xodus Ultra2, i think the plate is a little harder than the Peregrine which helps me on the rocky downhills and is thus very stable, hard to beat that Peregrine13 but to my opinion it does! Great shoe my favourite so far

Great for Trail Running!

VolsDeep April 1, 2024

Only have 25 miles on them but love them so far! I'm a bigger runner at 6'-0" and 210 lbs and I really like the thicker stack and additional drop compared to the Peregrine for my longer trail runs. The toe box is wide with plenty of room for my toes and my heels stay in place on the down hills. No hot spots or blisters so far. Other reviews mention durability issues with these shoes, but they have held up great so far. I love them!

Tight toe box

Zero zero zero August 13, 2023

I purchased this shoe as my daily trainer while I am finishing a 6 month deployment in Somalia. It is to replace my Hoka SG5 which I love, but they have worn down immensely in 4 months and 580 miles. I have done in-depth research on all things running shoes and landed on the Saucony Exodus Ultra 2 to replace my Speedgoats for the remainder of my trip. I am running 3-10 miles a day on loose gravel and hard packed desert ground. On occasion it will rain and everything will flood making it very “soupy” for a few days. The Speed goats lasted roughly 3.5 months which is why I ordered the Sauconys. The shipping took a little over 3 weeks to get here… but I mean it is Africa. I bought the shoes for the reviews I watched on YouTube. Many runners swore by these shoes and they seemed very nice. My first run was a quick two mile around the camp after my morning workout. It had rained the night before and the ground was mushy. First thing I noticed putting the shoes on was how snug the toe box is. I have wide feet, I didn't see a wide option but many of the reviews mentioned that the toes box wasn't as tight as other trail shoes. Well this one is definitely tight, I wouldn't say Solomon speed cross tight (which is one of the most uncomfortable shoes I have ever worn) but it is close. I spent approximately 20 minutes fidgeting with the shoe laces to get them just right. To where my toes had more room but my foot was still secure. Not a great start. Once I got my laces the way I liked them I started my run and instantly noticed how comfortable and plush the run felt. Eaxh stride felt easier than the last and the tread was wonderful! Much better than the hokas (Hoka still has saucony beat for toe box, which is huge to me). After mile 1 I kept feeling like my feet were super cramped in the shoe. Not a huge factor as I just ignored it but I plan on doing a half marathon at the end of the month and will see how it feels as my feet swell. All in all I would recommend these to a friend. Hopefully mine break in well and the toes open up some! Why don't they make this in a wide? Saucony has a great shoe here a close second to my precious speedgoats.

Versatility

mac September 24, 2023

Based on local trails, initially I was looking at picking up the Peregrine. Based on a number of reviews, I ended up picking this shoe up for perceived versatility. I hasn't disappointed. Fit is secure, comfortable, and provides confidence inspiring ground feel. My longest sustained run in it is 20km. Nothing really to complain about. It's a pretty ‘honest' shoe. It's not the fastest (neither am I). It's not the lightest. It does provide decent comfort, good ground feel, and a ‘security'. There are a number of lacing options to ensure a ‘customizable' fit. It's a ‘warm' shoe…but ventilation with durability and security would be a tough ask. That said, as your feet warm in the shoe, the positive features of it (comfort snd ground feel) seem to be enhanced by it. Where my local trails are not technical at all and are better suited to racier, lighter shoes, overall I'm pleased with the versatility these provide!

Sub par for a premium price

Mike W February 24, 2024

I'll start with the good, a lot of protection under foot, I run in the rocky rooty north east and the offset suits the shoe well. The bad, I had the peregrine 13 and loved them but wanted a little more comfort so I went to these. 1. Heavier so not as snappy and responsive 2. When stepping on rocks on the outer part of the sole, the shoe rolls up, foot slides around inside 3. No loop for waiters to attach to 4. Outer part of the shoe comes up too high and rubs ankles 5. My foot doesn't feel secure in the shoe, lacing is funky. Yes, they're the right size and I have 80 miles on them.
