Customer Insights: Rated 4.2/5 from 724 reviews.
I read the reviews carefully and decided on this chest. Sauder has always been good for me, even when something is scratched, broken or missing their customer service made it right. It does take some time to assemble-just read the directions and it'll come out fine. I took the advice of another reviewer and used a contractor's (wood) glue during assembly. Not sure if it makes a difference but used it anyway. Unit is sturdy and the drawers glide properly having to adjust only one of the drawers for even spacing. One thing I noticed is that the edges are exposed where the laminate is adhered. With the espresso color you can clearly see the lighter shade on all edges of each piece. I know I can't endorse a product, but the Old "language" scratch cover for dark wood worked like a charm.
This is the second chest like this I've purchased. One was for my stepson to use several years ago. It's been moved twice and has held up fine. I like the size of the drawers and the height of the chest. The chest is also not super deep so it doesn't take up a ton of room. The second, I've purchased to build into my other stepson's closet for a custom closet set up. It works really well because it's narrow enough to fit through the closet door and have the drawers slide out. I like the construction and very detailed instructions. If you lay out the pieces exactly as the pics show in the instructions, you'll be fine. You WILL need a Phillips head screwdriver and you cannot use a drill...the drill will overtighten the weird metal cam things (did this on one, don't be me). This is a really versatile piece of furniture and I'm thinking I'll be purchasing two more to incorporate into our custom closet rebuild.
Pre-fabricated wood is thick, designed with plenty of support (not just the nail on backing). Holes were all precisely drilled where they where supposed to be. Lots of parts, none were missing, all were precisely cataloged and labeled. Assembly time for one person was about 3 hours...I was very careful to take my time. Drawers slide easily and it even comes with a strap and wall mount screw for tip over protection, though the base seems wide enough to prevent tip over. The drawers were also deeper than other dressers I looked at that were about the same size. This is well worth the money if you take the time to follow the instructions to put it together correctly. I've bought other Sauder brand items in the past and all have been well made.
Husband followed the directions and had it together in 1.5 hours. No issues whatsoever. Great price and great quality. Super glad I didn’t listen to all those that don’t have “handy” helpers
This item is worth the price. My boyfriend is using it for all of his clothes. The drawers pull nicely. Walmart offered to build it for us before we picked it up, and they did a great job. I noticed some of these reviews complain of cheap wood, but they need to understand they bought a $100 dresser, not a nice $400 chest. It's not meant to last forever. Very happy with this purchase thus far. Have had it about a month.
I love it. I brought this dresser for my grandson. It is very heavy but sturdy. It comes with a lot of pieces that you have to put together unless you want to pay extra for someone else to assemble. It took my sister and I a while to figure some things out but we finally got the dresser completed. It was worth it. If I had to buy another dresser, it definitely would be fully assembled because it is time consuming.
Moved my twins into their own room and need to get a dresser quickly to keep their clothes in (they previously took over all my drawers). Was simple enough to put together and so far looks really good.
This is a decent dresser. We used it in our daughter closet. The closet had a 30 inch door opening. This dressers complete Finished width was 29 3/4. Perfect. It also can open draws with out going out past door opening. Not the best being it's made of Mdf. But I didn't want to spend a lot on it. It worked out well.
First of all, I understand this is a sauder ""put together"" piece, but it's quality is exceptionally bad! The assembly was complicated, but certainly doable. But the drawer glides DONT glide, at all, and the faces of the drawers move in place every time you open and close a drawer! I certainly wouldn't recommend this piece to anyone.
I purchased this thinking the drawers would actually slide. They don't. The ""glide system"" has zero glide capability and the drawers are actually dangerous to use. Wrote the company and they responded saying that the wheels are not suppose to roll. If the glide doesn't glide, what is the point? It took 4 hours to build as well. Very disappointed.....
