Sauder Palladia Engineered Wood 2-Drawer Lateral File Cabinet in Wind Oak

The file cabinet arrived quickly. It was very easy to assemble and a very substantial piece of furniture. The filing system can easily be used for legal or standard sizes. There is a safety mechanism that only allows one drawer to be opened at a time. This filing cabinet is very good quality and nice looking. I am extremely happy that I chose this one.

Great piece of furniture for my husband office matched with his L-shape office table. We spent almost 4 hours for assembly, with great step by step instruction.

I filed all of my documents and still had plenty of room for other documents.

I like the color/finish coordination with the desk and book case. Provides as much individual drawer space as 4 drawer metal file cabinets.

Assembly was a breeze and the support video showing step by step was rather simple and helpful. Took me a little over an hour to assemble. The gripes I have about the product was the shipping was poor. Box came with holes and showing some wear on the package. That unfortunately transpired to the inside where some of the pieces had some minor blemishes, knicks and scratches. Fortunately Sauder informed me that all pieces were under warranty and free replacement was an option for any pieces that were damaged beyond use. . Due to time being most important, I assembled it and looked it over and was going to make a judgment after seeing it finished. I concluded that by using a Black/Brown marker around the corners, edges, and select blemishes and scratches I was able clean it up and make it presentable. Recommend a touch up marker be included in the future. I imagine the lighter colors would show less blemishes in workmanship due to the materials being light colored recycled wood/particle board under the finish. Would I buy it again? Yes.

Lateral file. I may have received a previously returned item. I immediately found two major pieces damaged and requested replacement. That was easy to request and I received the replacement parts promptly. When I tried to put it together, I found another damaged piece, front and center on the top. I am ordering that piece today. And, for the money, Sauder could do a better job of having this item partially assembled. Some instructions are less than clear/confusing.

This file cabinet looks nice, but the drawers were hard to get to line up and roll properly. They still don't roll smoothly. They keep getting stuck. It's hard to open and close.
