This is a very secure and heavy base for an umbrella. The only thing is there are two screws to keep the umbrella pole in the metal but that metal piece can come out of the base. So if there's a super strong wind, there's a chance it could lift your umbrella out, but I think it's going to be OK. I guess I'll have to see.

Just what I was looking for. I have a very heavy outdoor umbrella that needed a very strong sturdy stand to hold it, and this stand worked perfectly

Don't mess with getting stands for cheap. Spend a few more bucks and get these. I'm blown away by the size, function, sturdiness, appearance, assembly, etc! You'll be blown away too! I bought 2. Now I'm back for another! These are bad!!

Easy to try in different areas to see which i liked best before filling it to make it heavy. A real back saver! The wheels are an added bonus, making this the best option out there!

thank goodness for wheels, heavy and once water/ sand added impossible to pick up but able to move it to proper placement on our patio. Holds our 13 ft. umbrella nicely in place.

Does what it is supposed to. I haven't tested it in strong winds yet, but so far so good. Easy to put together and easy to use.

These type of umbrella stands are convenient in terms of being able to empty them for ease of relocation and/or storage (do not have hardscape for using the wheels)- versus cast iron versions - as well as the price point. And, in the end, the usual utility really is a factor of the level of winds in any given area. I live in an area with higher than average winds during part of the year (not hurricane or wind storm, just 'everyday' winds). So, though filled with both sand and water, it fell over the first couple of days. Had to weigh it down with large stones. It hasn't tipped over since. Will empty the water before winter weather so that it does freeze and potentially crack the plastic. But, it should (hopefully) be fine to winter in place thereafter.
