perfect for my bedroom

AmarilloGramps May 13, 2014

Perfect for my bedroom. When screws were missing to attach the base, I called customer service who sent screws via priority mail. Picture excellent. Sound very tinny, so I attached a pair of powered computer speakers I had and everything is super now.

Will do all you want it to

FINICKIE December 16, 2013

This is the second Scepter TV i have bought. Both are great. One excellent feature is the built in HD tuner. Cox Communications gives HD signals up to channel 17 and the Scepter TV's receive them. I bought an Element TV because I went to the store to make sure a 19" TV would fit where I wanted it to. I bought the Element and it was good. But I was not satisfied (it did not have the built in HD tuner as I thought it did.) and bought the Scepter on line-for the same price as the Element (I bought a 24" Scepter several months earlier). I received it in 4 days! And then returned the Element. It is great. The colors are bright and the picture is sharp. These TV's are small so the sound may not fill a stadium. If you want that, use the earphone jack and hook it up to a sound system and fill a football field! I have NO complaints and would recommend this TV to all who want one. The price is great and the quality will hold its own against most all competitors.

Just the right size I was looking for to sit on my hutch in my office area. I already had hdtv thru my cable carrier so that brought the picture in at the sharpest view. Even before plugging up my hdtv cord the t.v. picture by itself is awesome. I purchased the two year warranty as a precaution due to the price. Right now I'm enjoying the fabulous t.v. at an awesome price.

Very nice product

Undacovamama May 16, 2013

I am happy to give this review, I almost didn't order this TV becuase of the reviews regarding the sound quality. I decided to give it a try anyway. I'm really glad I did; I live in a small apartment only about 700 sq ft and the sound is great. I turned the volume all the way up and I could hear the TV in everyroom. Just wanted to throw my thought out there, hoping it will help someone decide. I always read reviews when making a decision on buying a product, and them decide. Hope this helps someone.

OKAY, functional for a kitchen TV

Anonymous May 25, 2014

it's OK and functional for a kitchen TV. Took a very long time though to get the sound quality to an 'acceptable' and not overly tight and narrow resonance!!! Had to turn bass totally up and treble completely off. i find their 'pre-set' choice when trying to adjust various settings, (e.g. picture, sound) not very sensitively done; but, for the price i can live with it having gotten the sound to an acceptable, non-offensive resonance. i just hope it lasts as long as my old style TV and doesn't' 'conk out' after a year or two.... One has to carefully adjust angle of screen so that there isn't a funny dark marbly, shadow around images from certain angles-locations in the room-i guess that has to do with digital formatting. i've never had to bother of that before on older type tvs. Once again, acceptable and functional for the price, and thank Walmart for this possibility.

Fulfills our need.

rockportike May 6, 2014

We needed to replace our TV for outside viewing for our motorhome. This TV is adequate for that purpose. It could be somewhat louder but it is satisfactory. We only watch this TV when we sit outside in late evenings if the weather is okay. I wish we could get the picture to fit the screen. Too much is outside of the viewing surface.

I was really disappointed!

LavenderRose September 8, 2013

The volume was very low. I used computer speakers w/headphones and the sound quality was bad (like the speakers were broken). There was something wrong with the built-in tuner. I could get a few low channels and more high channels but none in between. At the menu the 'channel' option/icon was greyed out and it just skipped right over it like it wasn't there. Too bad...

Great Picture - Poor Sound

StudsnSuds November 2, 2013

I knew just by reading all the other comments posted by customers on this product exactly what I was getting into. This TV has a great picture and enough of the bells and whistles to warrant the $109 I paid for it. I have a secondary speaker I have attached to my cable providers box so the sound is not an issue for me. As others have said, the sound this TV makes is horrendous. My cell phone has a better speaker on it. Attaching another speaker to the TV is easy and as I have said the picture is great. Al in all, for the price, as a TV for the Bedroom, its a great deal.

defective upon receipt

exchanging December 29, 2013

I purchased the tv as a Christmas present for my son. When he opened it Christmas morning and we plugged it in, it had a BRIGHT GREEN LINE going through the middle of the screen. It was not fun trying to explain why Santa brought him a broken tv. Hopefully we have better luck on the second time around as I am not a happy shopper right now.

Bad picture quality as VGA Computer Monitor

AnotherMime April 18, 2014

When I connected my computer to the TV via the VGA cord, the picture quality was horrible. I made all the adjustments that was allowed on my computer and on the TV itself, with no avail. First of all, the limited number of pixels made the screen a little fuzzy - not crisp. The major problem was that it was not capable of producing a white color. White turned out to be either blue or green and you could adjust the intensity of either of these two colors. So, colors did not match. It's the poorest "computer monitor" I've ever tried. I connected my computer to a LCD TV/Monitor manufactured in 2004 and got a fairly good picture quality. White was white. So, I eliminated the idea that it might be my computer or my computer settings. Basically, you get what you pay for. This is the least expensive LCD sold by Wal-mart, understandingly why. I did not bother to test the TV picture quality. I returned it for refund.
