Just the right size I was looking for to sit on my hutch in my office area. I already had hdtv thru my cable carrier so that brought the picture in at the sharpest view. Even before plugging up my hdtv cord the t.v. picture by itself is awesome. I purchased the two year warranty as a precaution due to the price. Right now I'm enjoying the fabulous t.v. at an awesome price.
Clear and sharp picture. If you don't like the heavy, cumbersome 32 or more inches that take a lot of space and are very heavy, then this TV is for you. 19 inches is just right, especially if it is wall mounted which makes it look nicer. Also, it is light in weight which makes it safe especially if you have children.
I am very happy with my purchase. I have only had it for a week so I can't comment on the life of the television. I can tell you that I like the features. I like the information it displays on each channel. It has a very nice remote control and it's easy to figure out. You will need an antenna to get in channels without having cable. The color could use a little improvement but for under $100, you aren't going to get the most spectacular color. I would recommend it for anyone looking for a small TV.
This TV is great! We just wanted something small for the bedroom and the Sceptre TV is just perfect. Extremely lightweight, easy access to all the plugs and ports you might want to access. I plan to buy a Roku stick to plug into the HDMI port... so we can stream Netflix. No cable in the bedroom, so we hooked the TV to a flat antenna. Sadly, we only get 5 stations "over the air"-- and that has nothing to do with the Septre TV. What stations we do get, the picture is fabulous! The sound is a little tinny, but my hubby hooked up some little Sony speakers we had in the attic and now the TV's sound is just fine. The reason we only pick up 5 stations is because we live at sea level on Lake Erie in Cleveland, Ohio. All the big antenna towers are too high above us and too far away for us to even pick up local PBS. We pick up local & national ABC, Escape Network -- and a TCM-like classic movie station called GetTV. There are two others, but they left no impression on us and we skip right over them. Back to the Sceptre -- the price was right and it's a great size for a bedroom or the kitchen. It'll be awesome when we can stream movies to it. That's the plan.
I purchased 3 of these (was such a great price!) One was for my fitness area so I could use my workout dvd's and the other two were for my daughter's rooms. One liked it and kept it and the other refused to have it - said it was much too small for her room and where the tv was positioned she would have trouble seeing it. So I sent that one back. No complaints with the other two. Picture is clear and sound quality is good for what we use it for.
Upon getting tv noticed it was LED not LCD but still not bad... noticed a tiny dot upper right hand corner of screen.. but am using as a computer monitor so no big deal... has several neat plug in features.. 2 HDMI ,VGA,USB, RGB, Headphone ,and more... for price well worth it !!!
We needed to replace our TV for outside viewing for our motorhome. This TV is adequate for that purpose. It could be somewhat louder but it is satisfactory. We only watch this TV when we sit outside in late evenings if the weather is okay. I wish we could get the picture to fit the screen. Too much is outside of the viewing surface.
The volume was very low. I used computer speakers w/headphones and the sound quality was bad (like the speakers were broken). There was something wrong with the built-in tuner. I could get a few low channels and more high channels but none in between. At the menu the 'channel' option/icon was greyed out and it just skipped right over it like it wasn't there. Too bad...
I knew just by reading all the other comments posted by customers on this product exactly what I was getting into. This TV has a great picture and enough of the bells and whistles to warrant the $109 I paid for it. I have a secondary speaker I have attached to my cable providers box so the sound is not an issue for me. As others have said, the sound this TV makes is horrendous. My cell phone has a better speaker on it. Attaching another speaker to the TV is easy and as I have said the picture is great. Al in all, for the price, as a TV for the Bedroom, its a great deal.
I purchased the tv as a Christmas present for my son. When he opened it Christmas morning and we plugged it in, it had a BRIGHT GREEN LINE going through the middle of the screen. It was not fun trying to explain why Santa brought him a broken tv. Hopefully we have better luck on the second time around as I am not a happy shopper right now.
