Nice charger

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This works exactly how it should. I have a car that the battery always dies in so I used to have to jump it with another car. But with this battery charger it charges fast. There is 3 modes, recovery mode for heavily discharged batteries; boost mode which brings the heavily discharged battery back to life faster its like jumping the car; the last feature is service mode which prevents battery discharge when servicing. Also the display is digital so its easy to read.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We use this on a farm/ranch to replace a similar charger that we had for many years before it finally died out. This one is great for a number of reasons. It's portable and can be kept in the back seat of a truck or the cab of a tractor. The engine start is powerful and it's also handy to have a built-in alternator check. The digital display is also really nice compared to my old model which had a hard-to-read analog gauge that eventually broke. The 12' cables are a nice length and they are heavy duty enough to get the job done. Overall a great product.

I recently got this one and what a great upgrade. Appears to be constructed very well and durable. Heavy duty leads. It is missing the 2A trickle charge my old one had, but I do prefer the digital display instead of the analog needle gauge on my old unit. Overall very happy with this charger!

It has a digital display which provides real-time feedback of charging status, voltage, and diagnostic fault codes. It even has an Alternator Tester which checks the voltage output of the vehicle alternator, It has built-in safety features with multiple safety protections including Reverse Polarity, Short Circuit, Overheat and more. This battery charger has heavy-duty clamps and flexible cables which provide up to a 12 ft reach. Most importantly, this thing is very durable and built to last!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] If you're looking for a high quality charger and starter than this is the one you want to get. It's got a ton of features and is extremely durable. Make sure you read the manual because there may be some features that you might not be aware of. The only improvement I would make is to make the clamps fit smaller batteries better. I charge a lot of my kids 12v batteries for their toy cars and scooters. Because the clamps are so big (which I totally understand) it makes it a little challenging to fit on these small batteries. Not a big deal though and I would totally recommend getting this unit.

Great tool to have for the at home mechanic! Also nice and compact so it's easy to bring along in the car for emergencies! Must have item!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Got this DSR145 jump starter/battery charger for my husband for the family vehicles. He likes that it is more compact than his old one and can securely fit in both of our vehicles for travel purposes. He likes that the cords have a place where they can be stored on the back and ease of hookup to vehicles.

Appears to function as intended in all aspects of operation. The battery I tested it on had been dead for about a year sitting in a truck out in the driveway. I put it on a regular charger and it did little to nothing toward returning to usefulness. Then I purchased this new charger and did a reconditioning charge to see what might transpire. The charger performed as expected and ran through the process as described in the manual. After the charger shut down, the display revealed 12.8 volts when tested. I then put the charger in maintenance mode and left it overnight and the next morning it displayed 12.8 volts. I think the battery is back for limited use and I will put it on a trickle charger and leave it there for a while just to keep some constant charge running through the battery to see if it will get any stronger. One strange thing I noticed is that, even though the individual cells were not full to the bottom of the capacity indication cavities, when it was on the reconstitute cycle of the new charger, it actually caused the cells to be too full and run over onto the top of the battery so much as to leak fluid onto the shop floor. I have assumed this is part of the recycling process and the gas that is generated by that type of charging??? I gave the charger only a 4 star rating as I am waiting to see if the battery is fully recovered. I imagine it might deserve 5 stars.
