WiFi was hard to setup. Mine was “flashing blue”, which I couldn't find reference to ANYWHERE. FIX (SC1344): The trick is to press the “display” (WiFi) button as soon as you see the first letter start to scroll. Don't do it before and Don't wait too long after! If someone would have posted this before now... it would have saved me an hour of troubleshooting. I have several of these (..well non-WiFi versions) and I like them for battery maintenance. Too soon to tell on this one... so far so good!
Great battery maintainer. I have several of these but this one was the first to come with wifi capability.
This is a great little battery tender/maintainer. Wifi works great.
Purchased a while back, took a few times getting the app and charger to sinc but works every time now. You have to be a little patient to get things going. Android app works great. I have used the charger many time for multiple vehicles and other 12 V systems. The Schumacher Electric Wireless Battery Monitor is not an easy tool to use, I've purchased two and have taken them both back. Can not get them to work no matter what I try, stay clear from those. But the charger works great SC1344..
I read a few reviews before purchasing. I found this on clearance at one of the stores. Very simple and straightforward to use. Download the app, which guides you through the following: -plug the charger into a wall outlet -hold the button down to get into wifi setup mode -connect to the charger's wifi network through your phone -click the button in the app to open the charger's webpage -click on your home network and connect (once the charger is connected, your phone should connect back to your home network) -add charger to app, using the serial number and password that is provided on a card in the box -Done! Not sure why others were having issues, the setup is similar to most "smart" devices on the market. This works well for my needs, as I can hook up a battery in my garage and check on it whenever I want through the app. The app also allows you to stop/start the charging from your phone if you need to. For the price I paid, I love it!
Works great when you get it connected to WiFi. Will gradually buy more for my other trucks and tractors when I have the funds. Checking the state of the battery in my tractor in the winter from my phone is priceless.
Nifty. Setting-up the network connection was a bit confusing. The basic procedure is to use a phone to connect to the charger and then use their app and the phone's web browser to locate your WiFi network and transfer the settings to the charger. After doing this twice, the app gives a message that something had failed and that the connection had not been made. It turns out however, that the connection was made. At any rate, the charger works great and I like being able to check it's status remotely. I purchased this charger to maintain the battery of a relatively new car that of late, is mostly a driveway decoration. Unfortunately, the copious electric gizmos that I enjoy significantly deplete the battery if the car is not driven for several weeks. Hence this charger will ensure that the car will be ready to go when I am. I have two conventional Shumacher chargers like this on cars parked at the opposite end of the country. The cars start immediately and in any weather despite not running for six months or more.
It seems to charge a battery, but the whole WiFi and app thing seems non-functional.Therefore, it's is essentially just another typical maintenance charger.
Bought it despite the bad reviews. We have been using Schumacher manual chargers over the years and thought this would be an upgrade. Turns out everything about this charger is a giant mess. The app. The Schulink app glitched during the account registration process. Was unable to enter the password. Restarted the app and tried several times and was finally able to register. Wifi: The unit failed to bring up its own WiFi after long pressing the set up button to enter the WiFi setup mode. Tried on different phones and with the phones literally touching the unit. The WiFi mode seems to be glitchy too. If you timed out, you would not be able to enter so called WiFi setup mode again without disconnecting the unit from the wall. Charging. The unit refused to charge my car even when the old Schumacher manual charger works on the same car. It just alternates connecting battery and charging states over and over. It is a BMW sedan and this charger should support it. Long story short, nothing works and everything is so glitchy. This product really hurts the brand image and customer confidence Schumacher has built over the decades. Will be looking for a new brand to charge our vehicles as it appears the new Schumacher is not making good products anymore sadly.
I just received my second unit (fist one was faulty and didn't charge) and it looks like this one is going back as well. Unlike the first one this WILL NOT connect to Wi-Fi. Way too much time on phone with 2nd level cust. service rep. just to be told "It should be working". I agree it should be but it's not. Wi-Fi battery charger us a great idea, I hope someone figures it out. For now STAY AWAY from this one.
