It is compact easy to use and the size is easy to store
Purchased at local hardware store because I needed a decent charger and didn't have time to research. Operation is extremely simple. Connect cables, select battery type (only 3 options), and battery size (picture for small is snowflake, big is boat/car). I connected the charger to an old battery, and it detected that it was sulfated and automatically went into desulfation mode. Once the battery is fully charged, the charger automatically goes into maintenance mode, so you can leave the charger on the car indefinitely. At 15 amps it outperforms the similarly priced competition for charging automotive batteries. I certainly won't return it.
Great for lawn tractors, boat and car batteries
I use this to recharge my deep cycle batteries that provide 110v through an inverter on my boat. Batteries hit 11.2 volts if you keep it on all the time it will maintain your deep cycle but for me when they hit that low I need the 15 amps this is listed to put out. My fluke amp probe has never seen this reach higher than 8.6 amps. The 15 amp boost is joke.
I only gave it one star because this one was dead right out of the box. I've used Schumacher chargers all my life. My Father had one that I used also. That thing was probably 40 years old and still working. Even with the one star rating for this one, I'd still recommend Schumacher chargers.
Appeared to have been used before. Packaging and box in extremely poor condition when received.
I bought this a few months ago because I have heard good things about this particular battery charger and I guess my experience wasn't as good as the people who had the same kind but I used it a couple times and it worked fine and then I needed it today and plugged it in and it came on for a second and then went blank and now no power or nothing and yes I'm very familiar with electrical components and all that and I believe it just burned something on the inside of it and now it won't even turn on
This died. Caput. Useless now...
No more bueno so one star. Need more characters...
