This bike was recommended by physical therapist to build strength and endurance. Get range of motion in hips and legs. Very comfortable and sturdy. Love it so far.#Sweepstakes
I use my Schwinn 230 recumbent bike everyday for 20 minutes as an important must for my physical therapy for my Right knee replacement surgery to strengthen my knees, legs, thighs & my whole body! I love that when I bike it shows my heart rate, speed, calories used, miles, speed & minutes ! I love everything about my new recumbent bike. So easy to use! It works fast! In just a few days, I felt the improvement with my knees , legs, thighs , really my whole body ! It makes me feel strong! Forever young!
I use the recumbent bike 4-to-5 days a week. I purchased it about three or four weeks ago, and my fitness level is already noticeable. Please enter me in the "#sweepstakes". My only complaint was that the foot straps that attach to the pedals weren't long enough in which to fit my feet with sneakers. I called Schwinn to inquire about longer ones, but was told they did not have a bigger one. But, they gave me enough refund/credit to purchase ones on my own. I was extremely pleased by the response.
I bought this bike to help with my mobility issues and to improve my overall health. The only improvement I wish it had was a vertical seat adjustment which would have helped me avoid a lot of pain when I first get on the machine. I have end stage osteoarthritis and have lost a lot of range of motion in my knees. I have raised the seat by adding a lot of additional padding. It helps but could be a lot better if the seat were adjustable. I force myself to start peddling and it gets less painful as the minutes go by. I hope to improve my ROM over time. The bike is quiet and smooth otherwise. I'm a 74 year old woman and was able to assemble the bike by myself easily. It's a great product. #sweepstakes
I purchased this bike to add in cardio to my weight training plan. So far it's worked out great in the couple of months I've had it. The resistance has worked as expected and it adjusts very well. I wish the seat back was angled back more. Other than that, it's been getting some use 3-5 times a week since purchase. The only other downside is the app you have to use (ExploretheWorld) to track your usage as the bike doesn't directly connect to MyFitnessPal app to track the workout. You can link the two, or link the Explore one to your Health app, then let MyFitnessPal track your health app. I could also manually enter it in based off the bikes reading, but why do that if something else can track it. App is glitchy and doesn't connect to the bike well or control the bike at all. So you must start the app and bike at the same time to somewhat sync it.
The built in Programs are nice & make it easy to select one that fits your energy level and/or fitness level. Have not tried to use the Manual mode. The built-in heart monitor doesn't work well (compared to FitBit data & other heart rate info from other equipment).
My screen doesn't light up? Can anyone help with that?
Had the older model for over 15 years, finally time to replace. While I like the construction of the new model, the monitor is terrible! It was easier to read, had multiple users, and showed when Bluetooth was active. If I could, I would install the old monitor on the new bike.
Completely unhappy with the seat. I'm very surprised that Schwinn would make this so uncomfortable and hard especially if you're recovering from surgery or people that are older. There's no way that people would sit on this and be comfortable.
I was so excited to replace my old folding recumbent bike with something a bit more sturdy and comfortable. The reviews of this bike were very favorable, so I took the plunge. It's priced slightly higher than most home gym bikes, but it is still significantly more affordable than commercial products. Set-up took a bit of effort. It was in more pieces than I expected. But, once together, the bike definitely feels solid. I love the wider seat with the back for support, though a bit of padding would have made it even more comfortable. I am not one for unnecessary features, so I was quite happy with the very basic screen, straightforward course options, cup holder, and ledge for my phone. I also found that the seat adjusts plenty for my short frame. What has disappointed me is the jerky nature of the cycling motion. When I fully extend my legs, the pedal sticks and requires extra force to rotate it back around. As someone with a previous knee injury, this causes an unexpected impact on my joints. I've tried adjusting the seat, but I've yet to have a ride that didn't cause extra pain.
