I purchased this product when my 25-year-old treadmill finally quit working. I wanted a low-impact cardio workout without spending a fortune. I have been extremely pleased with the quality, the ease of use, and the results. I would definitely recommend this product to a friend.
My whole family uses it. I'm glad we went with this model because of the stride length. I'm only 5'6", but I find I need the 20" stride - anything less is uncomfortable. Set up was straightforward and it seems to be of solid construction. My only complaint is that the rollers need regular oiling or they get squeaky.
I use my elliptical every single day except Saturday. It causes for a great workout, a little time to myself in my home gym, and it's such a refreshing feeling when I'm done. I cannot say anything about how easy or not easy the setup was as I had someone come and put it together. This is a very quality product and I absolutely recommend it. Two thumbs up and five stars!
I was really impressed with the elliptical 430, the unit has beautiful welds, nice finish, first rate hardware. The assembly took about 1.5 hours, super stable and smooth to use. The guide wheels do squeak slightly, due to the wheel material riding on a steel guide tube, it's not objectionable. Silicone spray quiets it down.
I am going nuts not going to the gym during this Covid 19 quarantine. What I really want is an elliptical machine like the ones I'm used to. However, who can afford those? I'm very pleased with the Schwinn elliptical. For the price, it is a sturdy machine and has several programs to choose from. My husband is extremely mechanically inclined and was able to assemble it in a couple of hours. Had I been left to my own devices, it would still be in the million parts like it came in the box. Additionally, although assembly instructions came with the device, the actual user instructions did not. I found them on the internet, but it wasn't easy. That's because there are several versions of the Schwinn 430 elliptical.
I use the product daily for a 45 minute low impact workout. The only thing I would change is to move the foot rests/pedals about 4 inches toward the rear of the apparatus. My most comfortable position has my heels hang off the back of the pedals by 2 inches.
This elliptical is extremely solid. I had previously purchased a cheap elliptical - and I got what I paid for in a flimsy machine that rocked as I used it. This one is very stable, does not shake at all in use, and is very quiet. Absolutely no issues with the overall ruggedness - top notch! Additionally, setup was actually very straight-forward. The only two issues are: (1) the calculation of mileage and calories is extremely inaccurate (this is not that important to me, so not really much of an issue), and (2) I find this elliptical, even at its lowest resistance setting, actually too challenging.
Assembly was easy enough. Only two issues I have found with it. One, the handles that move back and forth is too close. When holding the stationary handles, the moving handles have a tendency to hit your arm. Second, the computer does not accurately report the MPH. It often reports that I'm going 2 MPH even when I'm moving as quickly as I can.
I use this product every day for 45-50 min. it is a good workout but the rollers rub rough and you need to oil it regularly to prevent damage to the rollers. Also the calorie and distance counter is way off. I have used various models of ellipticals for years and I always go about 6 miles and burn around 800 calories on every other machine. This one seems to be a harder work out (because of the rough rollers) and I sweat more but on this machine it says I only go about 4 miles and burn 450 calories which I know is not accurate. Overall it is a nice sturdy, quiet machine, but the screen is hard to see and the rollers really are not smooth at all.
Well built. The only problems was it was missing a nut for which I had to go out and purchase one and also the left upper handle bar's mounting bolts did line up. Only 2 out of 4 bolts lined up to secure. Walmart gave me a number to contact the manufacturer to get a replacement handle bar. Otherwise the rest of the assemble went well.
